What was just Laura and I heading to 7 Feathers for the July 4th week has turned into a great GTG. So thought I better post this so if anyone else wants to come you are welcome. So far we have

Karen site 20
Laura 19
Judi 18
Diana 15
Sharon 21
Sandi 14
Gloria 16

7 Feathers RV Resort 877-839-3599

This fills up fast so if any date is unavailable there is a large dry camping area across the freeway by the casino. Looks like July 3rd is FULL also Stanton City park just across the freeway and it is nice too. They have a shuttle from Stanton Park, Dry camping, to the rv park or casino, or store etc. We will also have many vehicles there so do not let that stop you

What sort of temperatures are usual for that area? Is dry camping feasible without AC is the question behind the question.... :)

It is usually pretty warm that time of year...BUT this is Oregon so anything can happen LOL Stanton Park is right down the road from the dry camping and it has lots of shade...it is actually a great little place. I haven't stayed there but at least there is shade. AND the shuttle will come there and take you anywhere you want to go RV park, Casino, into the small town of Canyonville to the grocery.

I looked...average temps are 85 in that area, maybe a little cooler first part of the month. But they have had record highs, too. Of course, heat is relative....to me, 85 is about right and comfortable...Maybe even tending toward long sleeves and jeans. Open windows and exhaust fan. To someone else, 85 is equivalent to the Sahara desert. :D

....now that I have solar I have a few more options (no AC without using the generator) but lots of other advantages.....

Chicago Rick and I are thinking of driving up the coast to OR. Neither one of us has been there and it is on our bucket lists. We haven't found work up there, yet, so may just wing it and find work once we get up there. That thought kind of excites me 8-) So, who knows? Maybe we will be able to join you :D :D :D Haven't looked at the map. Is it near the coast, at all?

OK...just looked at the map. There's a Myrtle Creek, nearby! That could be a SIGN :o

I just did a quick search on availability in the rv resort. July 2, 3, & 4 are not available. I checked and there is availability at Stanton Park which is just across the freeway from the rv resort. Price for Stanton Park is $23/night. There only appear to be a few sites available so if you're on the fence about attending, I would jump on the sites at Stanton. It is a really nice park with lots of shade.

Lyn, It can be very warm in July so not sure how comfortable it would be to dry camp unless you have a generator to run the a/c for the pup. I don't recall much shade, if any, in the dry camping area.

Just made reservations by phone this AM at Seven Feathers Rv Resort for July 2 leaving July 9, space 36. The gal that made my reservations said there were plenty of availabilities during this time. Oh, she also told me there were fireworks on July 4 in the hotel parking lot and it gets really loud. Anybody got any good ideas for something to soothe a 14 year old dog?? He gets really freaked out during loud noises - fireworks.
