Oregon GTG July 2 - July 8 (new dates)

Hi everyone,
I'm planning on going camping at Seven Feathers RV resort in Canyonville, OR, June 28-July 6, 2014. I believe Oregonluvr (Karen) will be joining me but that all depends on what she's doing with work, etc. so I'll let her weigh in on her plans when it gets a little closer. We went this past 4th of July and found that they don't allow fireworks on tribal land. Our dogs don't like fireworks (I have to sedate Harley) so we decided we wanted to go next July 4th as well.

The weekly rate (as of December 2013) is $220 with Good Sam and the casino's slot rewards card. The nightly rate is about $35/night with the same discounts.

This is a beautiful full service resort with some pretty nice amenities and the restrooms are spotless. The food in the casino is good and reasonably priced. There are other things to do in the area but I've always just enjoyed hanging out in the rv park with a trip or two over to the casino. The park is dog friendly and has a small off-leash dog park and other pet areas. I prefer the north end of the park (to the left as you pull in.)

It can be quite warm there in the summer but the lack of fireworks is the draw for me even though I don't like the heat. The trees are getting bigger so there is a teeny bit of shade at most of the sites.

I will be making my reservations after the first of the year but thought I would get this out there early in case others are planning their 2014 travels.

Yup I will be there. This is one of my favorite parks. Also close to Wildlife Safari which I need to visit again, havent been there for several years. Should have pretty darn good weather also so the BBQ will be tops on my list.

Oh yeah...If I am still in OR those dates, I will be there. You gals are too much fun and I don't want to miss out. I stayed at Seven Feathers while passing through Canyon City on my way to OR. It is nice there and the casino is pretty nice too as casinos go.

I love Seven Feathers RV park. I'll be there unless one of my kids decides to have a wedding during that time, or have a baby, or any other activity that requires my attendance. I'm not a big fan of fireworks!

keeping an eye on this thread cause if all goes well I've got a trip tentatively planned to visit my dad in Vancouver WA and my brother in
Seattle in June. If I'm indeed up that way I could swing in for an overnight visit.

Sounds like a good time to be at Seven Feathers, count me in. Smokey might be a little bored though. Not many people for him to watch compared to the Occupy Casey's bunch. Do you have your site #'s yet or do I just as the reservations people for a site near you all?

Looks nice. I already have plans for the beach over the 4th so will miss it next year. Will keep it in mind for 2015 if you think this will be an annual event.

Karen, I saw your going to Lebanon in march do you ever camp at Waterloo just outa Lebanon? How is it, I did years ago in a tEnt, now we have a RV and heading south from Washington..

erika, I am not even sure where it is so I might have to find it and check it out. I am staying at the Albany/Corvallis KOA and working in Lebanon. Will be here for 3 months.

It was nice camping, just far enough outa Lebanon to feel Like camping, but quick drive to town, can't find much online to find out RV cost

Laura and Karen, Liz and I plan on arriving on June 29 and checking out July 6. We have confirmed reservations for sites 16 & 17. We did not know what sites or area you are going to be in. So if we need to change, please let us know.

We are really looking forward to meeting you ladies and, of course, having a great time. Let the good times start!

Hey that's great news! I adjusted the dates though. Hope that isn't a deal breaker for you and I apologize for not changing it before you booked your sites. New dates will be July 2-8. You could always cruise over to Crater Lake from there while you're waiting for us to show up or others may be there June 28. We have reservations on the same side of the resort where you will be (I don't know exactly what spots they are though) so don't change your spots.

I think we are all going to Wildlife Safari so don't do that until we get there LOL

I am really looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing others again!

YIPPEE......Love to see you both. We had to adjust the dates as I am still a working girl... FinallyTime (aka Karen or K2) will be there on the 28th along with a couple she knows on the 28th, her friends are leaving on the 2nd she is staying until the 5th. I am not leaving until the 8th and Laura is still working on it LOL Talk about jello hah
You are in the right end of the park as there is a shooting range at the other end and both mine and Laura's dogs don't do well with that. I am calling tomorrow to firm up my site selection so will see how close we can all get. K2 will call also as she had us at the other end of the park. NO fireworks allowed on Tribal land.....love it.
