YUM! Does that mean spicy? Beans or no beans? (I don't care either way)

If we're doing chili, I won't be making cowboy beans. Too much like chili.

Oh, but there's more than one night. If I were there I'd want both!

Ok! I'll make cowboy beans. And my cousin just posted a recipe for italian pasta salad I may make, looks yummy.

But yeah, last night for sure! Can we have cornbread with the chili? I only have a teensy tiny toaster oven so I can't make a very large batch.

And Mitch, just for you I'm bringing Gonnella Italian bread! AND butter.

NO! I'll eat it.
(but I'll bring the fresh garlic...)

The thing I like about the GTGs is that people bring one recipe's worth and we all get to try a little bit of a lot of different types of food.

It's a lot to cook up a batch of something in a small trailer to feed the entire GTG. So, I vote chili AND cowboy beans (I had to Google that term a few days ago).

I can make cornbread if no one else volunteers...I've usually gotten my stash of self rising corn meal by then. Can't get self rising corn meal in SoCal so I get me a big bag and my daughter one. I need to keep track of what I said I would make! I know I said I would make Glenna Raes sister Barbara's birthday cake....

Chilli is no beans & depends on what your idea of spicy is. I use lots of fresh chillis both hot and sweet, works for the flavor best.

Any chili I make will have beans. Never heard chili being no beans. I know there is beanless chili, but there is also chili with beans. Mine is spicy if I'm making it for me, less so when I make one to share.

Thought maybe I was wrong, so just Googled a definition:

Chili con carne, commonly known in English as simply “chili”, is a spicy stew containing chili peppers, meat, tomatoes and often beans. Other seasonings may include garlic, onions, and cumin.

Some people say no beans, some people say with beans. I make it both ways, just depends on what I have. As long as it has beef or deer & not vegetarian, I eat it!

Deer! Oh joy! A girl after my own heart! Just had venison meatloaf tonight. Apologies to all who do not hunt. We do.

Aww Vickie, my vegetarian "chili" is my favorite chili now. But you do have to like beans. And it is pretty spicy.

How about some of Ron's Market's famous homemade hotdogs?
