Thought I would let those of you who are maybe thinking joining the Frankemnuth GTG but don't want to or can't afford the rates at Jellystone, there are alternatives in the immediate area, one in Birch Run just outside Frankenmuth

http://pineridgerv.com/

Also a couple a bit farther out, one of which is surrounded by lakes

Not trying to break up GTG all over, but just giving out alternatives. We can all meet in Frankenmuth and enjoy the town and the doings, dinner, potluck etc easily. By the way, the is a craft show in Frankenmuth the weekend of the 19th for those who like to browse them.

Made my reservation today for Frankenmuth Jellystone park--arriving Friday and leaving Tuesday for Ontario. Hope more of you make reservations although they have plenty of space right now.

Due to my trip west, I'll be mising this GTG. Darn but can't be every where. Maybe can get one together later in summer if anybody else comes to MI. I know I plan to be in UP. In August.

Ladies, I will be in Michigan in June. In fact, I will be in Belleville about the time of the GTG. I have to do some juggling but I want to join up with you at Frankenmuth.

That would be great, Roadweaver. I am looking forward to meeting you.

Do you have relatives or friends in Belleville? I used to live in Canton, which is very close to there, and in the mid-80s I worked in training at the Hydramatic Plant nearby.

Judy, I do not have relatives anywhere in Michigan that I know of. I am traveling with the singles group called the WINs. They will be stopping in Michigan and it so happens that I will only be an hour an a half away so I thought I would leave the group to join up with you ladies and I can catch up with them afterwards.

Let's do a count. If I have missed you or you plan to just stop by for one day or two, please let me know. So far there are the following:

- Me (JudyJB) - June 19 for four nights
- MelissaD - June 17 for five nights
- Roadweaver - ??

GingerK said she would try to make it. I will send her a private message.
Havingfunnow also mentioned she would come, but I do not know if she has made reservations or firm plans.

Anyone else? It would be nice if a few more could come, even if it was for only a couple of days.

I'm definitely coming, though probably not until Saturday. I just discovered the kids will be in-state for the two weeks prior. They'll be in and out, and naturally I want to see as much of them as possible.

I won't make reservations until nearer the date, and probably in a smaller campground. In a pinch, I can always commute from the Lansing area!

I'm looking forward to meeting people face-to-face!

OK, so we have:

- Me (JudyJB) - June 19 for four nights
- MelissaD - June 17 for five nights
- Roadweaver - coming for a day
- Havingfunnow - Coming Saturday
- Newcomer Beazle ???

So, how about this plan? Let's have:

- An informal potluck for dinner on Friday,
- Shopping at the Bronner's Store on Saturday morning, and
- Dinner together on Saturday. I will make reservations at Zehnder's once I get a count. Please let me know if anyone else in your party will join us!

The best thing at Zehnder's is the family style all-you-can-eat chicken dinners! Check out their dinner menu here: http://www.zehnders.com/dining/zehnders ... ant.htm#03 (You have to scroll down to "Dinner" in the middle box.) It comes with several appetizers, entre with several side dishes, and dessert.

Zehnders also has some very nice shops in the basement, including an excellent bakery. There is a sweet shop, and a souvenir and doll shop down there.

Sorry for the slow reply: I am planning to attend the Frankenmuth GTG, and bringing my SIL Marcia, as well. Since I don't yet have the RV, and there turns out to be no cabins available at the CG during that period, we will be staying at the Frankenmuth Motel, about a half block away. She's in Hammond, Indiana so I'll pick her up on my way from Milwaukee. We will arrive Friday, and leave on Monday, so we'll be there for the potluck, and the Saturday at Bronner's and Zehnder's. Our potluck contributions may be less elaborate than the rest of yours, as we'll be without a kitchen or even a campfire, but we'll do our best. I sure am looking forward to meeting you and getting more familiar with the RV life beyond the RV shows and internet forums.
Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Oh, Eileen, some people aren't cooks even and some of us, occasionally, just don't feel like cooking. Anything you take will be great - so don't you worry about that.

Sure wish I could be there - so everyone take lots of pictures.

Our schedule is taking a hit. Was told we had 3 weeks vacation and now I'm told I only have 2 weeks. We are going to have to shorten our stay but we hope to arrive Friday early afternoon and leave either Sunday or Monday depending upon what I can work out with work. Hours at work are also lean at the moment :(

Pot luck on Friday sounds awesome. Due to health issues we will probably sit out shopping and not sure about dinner yet. Looks like its about $21 a person for dinner.

The dinner is a bit expensive but it is really exceptional and the reason a lot of people drive a long way to go to Frankenmuth.

The Christmas store is very close, just across the street, and you can use a wheelchair inside. It is one huge building. The rest of us might wander into the town itself, which is only a couple of blocks away.

Yikes! The kids are staying longer -- which is, of course, wonderful, since I'm always happy when they're here. Unfortunately, it means I'll miss the GTG. See you all another time!
