Hi Kim.....I've stayed a couple times at the Goose Island State Park campground. It's nice (unless mosquitoes are out!). A friend recommended 'The Quiet One' RV Park (it's a bit off the main drag in town), but I haven't stayed there yet. Of course, over at Port Lavaca there's boon docking areas. We will be having our gtg there the first week of April (check out thread in gtg room). Hope you will drop in those dates mesh with yours! :)

I like visiting Rockport, but prefer staying in Port Aransas. And there are a few new parks with great rates in Aransas Pass - between Rockport and Port Aransas. Can't give you names of parks in Rockport - as I don't stay there. There is also a nice state park in Port Aransas - Mustang Island. Mustang Island is actually close to Corpus, also. I did go check out Goose Island - do you want to be close to town - it's a little further out - nice park, also. I spent a year in Port Aransas - one of my fav places. I stayed at one of the major parks on the island - not sure if you're looking for that or not - or the season you're going?

Beth, we'll be there in May and June. My daughter lives in Rockport. We'd like to be close to her to save on gas.... but Port Aransas may work. I'll check out the state park for sure.

There are several parks right in Rockport - and if you want to be there - many of them will probably give you a good rate for those months. Port A might not - as they are a summer location also - Memorial Day to Labor Day the beaches there make them the place for San Antonio to make their summer place. Can you have your daughter go look at the places - so you can know which might be better than others?

Son-in-law got a recommendation for Shady Oaks - it looks alright. My daughter said she really likes the looks of it. I'm also looking seriously at Big D and Quiet One. Have to decide between ammenties at all three.

I've been to/near both of them, but my memory isn't so good. LOL Probably both would be wonderful. I'm also thinking that the time frame you'll be there - you could get there and check them out and then decide. But you might want to call and make sure about that .
