I think it runs off the house battery and the engine battery charges the house battery when connected.

I believe you have a 3-way fridge. If so, you can use the house battery or lp when traveling. If you use the house battery, make sure to change it when you are stopped as you don't want it to drain too much when it's not being charged.

Yes. It is 3-way frig. Tomorrow I will turn on the house
battery, then the frig, and head down the road!

I chill my frige first with electricity,... pre-trip. Then turn it to battery for travel as it's kept charged by driving. Then at campground I turn it to either electricity again if i have it..... or gas. .... as some people say "propane"... Trick is to not forget to turn it off the bat and end up running down the bat. :D

Cedar, that's how we did it when we had our 5th wheel.

Yep, that's right. If you're making a quick stop you can leave it on 12v or turn it off, but if you're going to visit a museum for 2 hours, put it on propane. If you leave the frige on 12 v when stopped it will use up your house battery fast. Make sure your house battery is on for your engine vattery to charge it...same for when plugged up to elec.house battery must be on to get charged. Enjoy your trip!
