Can someone help me? I'm trying to post an "old" pic in the "Back When" thread. I'm able to get the pic copied into the draft. It appears to be a good size. But, when I either try to save the draft or submit it, I get an error message. Sent a PM to Beth, but she must be busy. Thanks.

What's the error message?

What's the error message?

It said "misconfiguration, internal error, 404 not found." This happened several times until I gave up.

Sandi, are you copying the picture or the code to the picture?

Thanks Mitch and Beth. For some reason it worked this time. I didn't do anything different, but won't argue with success. Thanks again.

Bethers wrote:After you get them uploaded, it'll give you links under your pictures. To post within a thread, all you need to do is post the IMG link they give you. Same if you want to post in your signature. But if you want to post in your avatar, you need to post the "direct link" given and, in some cases, it won't post correctly unless you put in the size (make sure it's no bigger than 90 x 90).

When I use the IMG link the thing here for the Avatar keeps saying the link is too long...are you sure that's the one?

When I use the Direct Link...even tho I made sure to re-size it to 67 X 90, the response I get after copying it here is that it's still a very huge size.

What am I doing wrong?

It has to be the correct link for the avatar. Post the link into a message here and we'll check it for you.

This is the IMG (not the IMG Thumb...but that one is still "too long"):

This is the Direct:

Yes, the image code is what works in a message. Now for the avatar, you are thing into your control panel correct? You put in the direct code you put in the message where it asks for it, then put in the size in the appropriate place and then remember to go down and click save. And then never move the picture within photobucket Give it another try in the control panel and if it doesn't work, come back here and let me know.

What do you mean by never moving the picture?

BTW: It still tells me the link is too long.

Well, my avatar is now you - and all I did was what I told you to do - put the DIRECT link into the place in my control panel for an avatar and specified the dimensions and clicked submit.

Here's a screenshot - hopefully this will help
