Coming soon to my house!!!!!

This beautiful boy will be joining my life in mid July, as well as being my constant companion he and I will be learning to show LOL EEEK! One of my life rules since my divorce in late 2014 is to at least try everything on my bucket list (it's a long list lol) even tho I'm alone after 37 yrs I refuse to not live a joyous and brave life. Kind of a "no stone unturned" hence the new travel trailer (still searching for the tow vehicle) and giving up the contract work I've been doing since I retired in 07.
I am brainstorming names but will leave the final choice til I pick him up. He will start his show career in Oct at the GDCA national specialty in the futurity and the 6-9 puppy class ( I will not be handling him) I will start handling him on the Florida circuit late Nov.
p.s. Even tho I've never shown, I've been around it and have had Danes for 25yrs...

What a beautiful little guy!
BirdbyBird on this Forum shows her dogs (English cockers - all champions, just in the personality department)...she's full of tips.
(well, isn't that a play on words...)

Good luck and good for you on your attitude!

My best tip and goal for each show is to try to make it out of the ring without tripping over my own feet. :)

Great looking pup. I gave up showing when it became a professional handlers game.

Yes he has a lot of bone and substance so will probably be substantially bigger than my last 2 males who were 165&145. My good friend who is also the breeder of most of the Danes I've had has really progressed amazingly with her line, she has worked very hard not only to produce gorgeous dogs but she puts the same emphasis on health and temperament as looks which can't be said for a lot of breeders unfortunately. You guys are probably going to become sick of puppy pics come the end of July LOLOLOL.

That is so true, even my breeder show person friend hires out the handling a lot of times as its so much faster. It's just way more money than I am willing to invest and I really want the experience of doing it some myself. If he likes the ring and grows up as nice as he looks now I may invest in some strategic shows (for majors) using a handler. I'm lucky that I know a few of those as well, lol.

And some breeds are easier to finish as Owner Handler. In English Cockers we often network and work together to build the majors we need.....then it is nice when the judges have different opinions and we get to share over the course of a weekend. :) And as much as I love Goldens you couldn't get me to try to finish one as a OH......
