William's dilemma

Postby havingfunnow » Mon Feb 15, 2016 10:56 am

My sister saved a big soup bone for William yesterday, and he wouldn’t let it out of his mouth. Every night shortly after dark, he goes out; when he comes in, he gets his very yummy supplement. He had a really hard time leaving the bone behind when he went out, and grabbed it again as he walked through the door.

When he came in, there was no supplement waiting for him! I thought I'd wait until he was done enjoying the bone. Then he had a dilemma! He walked around holding the bone and crying, wanting both at once.

Poor William! Wants his bone and treat too! You've spoiled him!

Oh yes --- and that was goofy too! Since it's a powdered supplement, I usually serve it with broth and a little of his dried food or a little bread. He danced around, bone still clenched in his teeth, while I stirred it up. Then he carefully deposited the bone next to his bowl, put his foot on it, and gobbled up his yummy treat. Usually he chases the bowl across the floor, working on getting the tiniest possible crumb licked out, but last night he finished quickly. Then he snatched the bone back up and danced off again.

Later, he was spinning it and grabbing it, and somehow managed to dislodge the old-fashioned heat duct cover and knock it into the opening. He was so sad that I went and fished it out for him.

That was one one very good bone!

Isn't it wonderful what an endless source of entertainment our furbabies are for us. Lilly got one of my gardening gloves and would shake it, throw it up in the air and catch it then do it all over again. This went on for about ten minutes, nonstop. I didn't have the heart to take it away so I just bought some new gloves, needed them anyway.
