Beautiful! I admire the way you went about finding and buying her. Some day you'll have to tell me about research and negotiating. You did such a good job for yourself.
Can't wait to hear about your adventures with Winnie (MINE!) :D

Thank you BayouLady (love the dogs!!), and Roadweaver!

I took her to a resort less than a mile from my house the 3 days up to the 4TH...the hottest days of this summer, here so far...I might add! Just for a test run...

And I had trouble cooling her down. Everyone was telling me something is wrong. So yesterday she went back to La Mesa RV for an AC check-up. Sure enough in the ducting hot air was being pulled in, and the filter needed washing...but mostly it was the heat coming in.

I went to pick her up last evening and said my good byes to the tech, and drove away while he was standing there. Less than a minute later he calls me, and says bring her right back! You wouldn't believe it, but they forgot to put the shrouding back on the AC up top! He saw it as I drove away. Can you imagine if I would have made it to the freeway?!

Fortunately I was still within mine 30 day warranty that LM gives every buyer, so I didn't have to pay for the work...this time...but I was really taken aback that they left the shrouding off.

Also, I noticed on Yelp that they have REALLY bad reviews on that service center...it worries me for if/when something major happens...ya know? Especially at $130.00 per hour?

I was telling my daughter today that I'm going to look for a private RV mechanic...some old Guru guy...like my dad who is considered a tranny expert, and used to have his own garage. I gotta find somebody like that!

On the 26th me and DD are going with all our dogs (5...all under 10 lbs.) up to Flag for the weekend. We'll stay at the KOA up there...where there's lots of people in case something happens!

BayouLady...do you ever make it to your Jazz Fest?

I went last year...and loved it! I want to go again, and take my daughter this time...

I feel weird about naming inanimate objects...especially because of the Earthy person that I am. However, I am saying "The Winnie," or just "Winnie," which of course is a girl's name.

But it's not very original...considering that she's a Winnebago!

Funny though...I feel insulted for the benefit of any animal who gets named Blackie because she's black, or Dotty because she's a Dalmatian, or...well you get the idea!

However, animals are not inanimate objects!

So, I think Winnie is going to have to be it :|

I know it's funny naming an inanimate object. But these are our special babies, our homes on wheels. I couldn't just call it the "RV" or "coach" as DH calls it. "It" is so much more than "it". I'm not very original, but because my nickname for most my life has been "Red" and there it was right on the motorhome, "RED" (stands for Rear Engine Diesel). So, I couldn't help myself, I call her RED, while I'm Red.

I had a Winnebago back in 1972 and called it Bagel. Can't remember the reason behind that name, bet it was a good story though. But whether you name it or not, you sure have a nice rig and you're gonna have a wonderful time when you hit the road. :P
