Good to hear from you Tina. Sorry you are still having health problems. It's hell to get old. My knees and shoulder remind of that all the time. Sorry you had to downsize your dogs. I lost my Sugar to cancer in September and I miss her so much. I keep telling myself I don't need another dog. I still camp some but don't get too far from home.

Good to hear from you too Shirl. We miss your posts. I imagine having to move takes a lot of adjustment. At some point I won't be able to live in the country.

Feeling Anxious.
Talk to yourself. #6 is my new motto. Mu motto use to be “ she believed she could, so she did” Think six suits me better.
1. My brain is giving me the wrong signals. I am safe.
2. I know how to cope. I trust myself.
3. This feeling won't last forever.
4.,I accept this feeling.
5. Thank you for this warning, but I am OK.
6. Iam a total badass. I got this.
7. have felt this way before, and nothing bad happened.
8. I have a toolkit and will use it.

Shirl so happy hear from you!! I have also been overwhelmed by anxiety recently and I can't thank you enough for posting this list. I've always loved your quote "she believed she could, so she did" but this has really helped me to 'get a grip'

Martha.....if we are lucky may we be able to always have a dog......I just needed to be more rational and realistic...my days of training and walking multiple dogs is history.

Shirl...... I like your list of self reminders. The Way Out by Alan Gordon, LCSW with Alon Ziv......It is important to recognized when our brain is sending misinformation......Anxiety, pain messages when we really are safe. Keep up the good work. Be kind to your brain though, when you remind it that you are safe. It did get you this far with its brilliance......
