Kauai

I got back last night from a 5-day trip to Kauai with my daughter Shannon. She invited me to join her just 2 days before we left last week. Kauai was the only Hawaiian island I hadn’t visited. She was able to find us good airfares and had points to pay for our hotel. We had a wonderful time seeing much of the island by car, horseback and swift boat. Here are a few pictures.

We had our own private trail ride around a very beautiful part of Kauai

Turtles come ashore to certain beaches at night. Sometimes numbering 80 or more.

We went on a boat ride, went snorkeling and saw beautiful scenery.

Saw lots of spinner dolphins, some with young ones still following their moms.

All good things must come to an end. Last morning and sunrise.

I have never been to any of the Hawaiian islands, so I guess I really need to get busy and go. Beautiful pictures!!

What a wonderful surprise trip! Horseback riding, snorkeling and beautiful scenery. I worry so much before a trip I'm sometimes to tired to go, being surprised would be perfect. So were you inspired to do some landscape painting? :)

I think I might have been BJ. There’s so much beauty there one can’t come away without being inspired in their own way. Anyone who hasn’t been to the Hawaiian Islands or it’s been too long since your last trip there: if you can, I highly recommend that you go for it. Life is too short.

That's the only state I haven't been to. I'm hoping it's in my cards yet!
