Cheryl and I are now parked in a casino parking lot in Albuquerque, NM. The winds have been very bad, strong the past couple of days. The gas mileage has suffered. The big semis blow us over so we are driving slowly!

Good plan. Take it easy. Hope the winds die down for you.

Take your time, drive slower, wind is no fun ... And Arizona is very hot for the next 5-7 days... 90's, after which it'll get back into the 80's.

Drove today from Albuquerque to the SKP park in Deming. Nice drive with no winds...what a relief. We will stay here two nights as I am tired.

Thanks for checking in. So glad you are there to lead Cheryl astray! I am guessing that she is leading more and more about deserts.....

Whoopee! Drove from Deming to Benson today and the wind pushed us the entire way! MPG went up to 25!!!
Cheryl got Beth’s site by the luck of the draw. You have a very nice site here, Beth.
Winds are bad going over the Mts into San Diego, and temp there is 100*, so we are delaying arriving too soon.

Good decision on not rushing back to San Diego. It feels like stepping into a convection oven outside up here in the LA area. San Diego isn't much better. The winds are extremely hot - even the shade doesn't offer any relief.
Things should calm down a little later this week. Take your time - no rush... :)

Here we are at the SKP park in Yuma. Glad to have the AC as it is 97 here. Good drive today as the little wind there is, is from the east. Got good mpg again today. Succomed to the ads for a date shake in Dateland. Good, but too heavy sitting in my stomach. Lyn

Take it easy over the mountains. It is getting gradually cooler each day now.

I tried a date shake in Indio once and it was really good!

Is Cheryl coming with you to San Diego? We will have to get together once you get unpacked and settled in again. I need a tour of downtown SD!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Lyn! Last night the crew at the "waterin hole" was asking about you! Your travels really left an impression on them.
