Visiting Pat

I am safely here. Getting talks on all the different cows and all the crops. Something I have never experienced before. It is fascinating to me! I am just a city girl! Lyn

And if you ask real nice you can get a tour of the farm... Watching Pats son jump on the four wheeler to chase done an errant escapee was memorable also!

You’re all welcome to come anytime you want. Sean was here for a little while this morning. He’s in the middle of a bathroom remodel at his house. So he’s showering at our house for now. We made a trip to the Bargain Shoppe today and Lyn found a nice jacket and stocked up on books at 4 @ 1.00. I nabbed a fall wreath for the front door, an outfit for Haddie and a shirt for Bronc. Late afternoon we went out to the farm. She got to meet Ashley and the grands. Bronc introduced her to Jack (his dog) and the three horses that were in the corral. He informed her that his pony Django is a little ornery so now he rides a big horse. Haddie just sucked on her hand and grinned. Ryan had gone to the pasture land about 200 miles west to check on the cattle that are pastured there for the summer. So there was no four wheel herding! The feed lots are always fairly empty in the summer because most of the stock is pastured. The empty lots are getting cleaned out and leveled for their return. We went in the house where Bronc showed Lyn his entire fleet of farm equipment. The poor child has no toys. Haddie was still sucking on her hand and grinning. After we left the farm we went to the local watering hole for happy hour and Lyn had a chance to meet Faye and Nina. Missy was there too. Now we’re home and have had supper and Lyn is in her rig. We’ve said our good byes since I’ll be leaving early in the morning. Sorry there aren’t any pictures….Photobucket and I aren’t getting along real well. Unless I figure the new format I won't be posting anymore pictures.

Pat, check out the post from Mitch in the Maintenance/Tech thread for a new and much easier way to post photos on here (no Photobucket).

I am definitely envying Lyn and her visit. I sure would like to make a trip to see you, your family, and the farm. Would there be any chance for horseback riding? Even just a little? Maybe I could help with the cows. I've been inching to get back in the saddle since my 25 years riding my horse, Reno, starting at age ten, and also since last year's mule ride with Liz, Birdie, and Diana to the bottom of Grand Canyon. I'm trying to plan a trip next summer in your direction and would love to see the farm and your wonderful family. What do you think?

No, Linda...Ashley doesn't ride. I wish I still could saddle up, but my back says forget it woman. I had a horse when I was younger and rode all the time. After I moved to Avon to teach another teacher and I used to go to a ranch just out of town once a week and exercise horses for them. But we've traveled around the sun many times since then!

Sandi...I'm sure Ryan would let you ride if he isn't busy. You're certainly welcome to stay at Camp Cihak. Just give me a heads up!
