Hi, I'm ChrisAnn, from St Cloud Fl. Just started doing research about solo RV'ing, it's something I'd wanted to do after retirement, not full time, my kids and grandkids are here so I will want to winter in Fl and I'm not ready to give up my house. I plan on taking the rest of this year for research and seeing if it is financially doable for me. If it is then I will take another 6-12 months getting everything in order to take off.
A little background on my dream. I just turned 59, retired from the FAA (air traffic) in 2007. Since then I have done some contract Tower work fairly part time til Dec when I wanted a change from talking to airplanes lol, now I'm doing some ops support contracting for the FAA. This contract should be finished by Nov if not sooner and I'm thinking I'm not going to do anything more. Although my blood family is here, and I love them dearly, I have a second family (by choice) out west in WA and Or (we are all glass artists) that I plan to spend time with every year so I will go back and forth. The other thing is I am a Great Dane mom, this is actually the first time in about 25 years that I am without one, I lost my 10yo girl about a year and a half ago in the middle of my divorce (after 37 yrs....but THATS another entire nail appt story ) sadly I just lost my 7yo boy to sudden onset cardiomyopathy a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure I have at least one more in me, physically, then I might have to downsize, but I digress. In order to have a Dane and go back and forth I will need to drive.
This is my time now and I have friends and family all over the country that I would like to re connect with and so many places I have never taken the time to see and explore.
Been reading threads here and RVSue's blog from the beginning, I'm up to late 2014. I've bookmarked a couple other blogs and a bunch of other things to read but am open to any and all advice. Sheesh sorry so drawn out..what a blabber mouth
