Crocheted ABCs Baby Afghans

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Mon Oct 20, 2008 12:30 pm

Okay, have been talking about these afghans for the last month and now I have finally finished them....I swear I can almost say my ABCs frontwards and backwards by now   The pattern has a graft, so if you want to do this afghan just Google "ABC Baby Afghan"....can't find my pattern right now

Now I'm working on a ripple stitch afghan....

ABCs afghans in 3 different colors...

Very nice Lori....I've been working on a baby blanket for two years and I have about 12" finished....it was started for the first born of one of my son's friends and his wife...Macy is now 18 months old...but there is hope...mom is expecting again so maybe I'll get it finished this time around!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Those are really neat - lucky babies and moms. My Mom tried to teach me to crochet - never could get it - lost patience. Makes me want to try again.

Oh Lori, those are spectacular. Yep, you are talented, my friend. The babies will be learning the alphabet in their sleep.

Dang they're pretty.

?? Are those for babies in the family?? Or for friends too? You've probably posted info about that and I missed it! It they are for just family members??? You've got a busy family! hehehehe

Sheila....the stitch is called a "puff" on the pattern, but it is really a "popcorn" stitch....it's all done in a single crochet stitch except the lettering which is the popcorn stitch....

Echo.... My family has had a new baby every year since Nov. 2005....sometimes 2 in 1 year... ....My Mom is currently a Great-grandma 9 times.... These are for my one niece who is expecting twin girls in March and a nephew and his wife, who are expecting in late Feb.....so that will bring the count up to 11.... :D ....I am the eldest of 6 kids.....so we are use to large families..... ;) and every one of them are a joy!!! I know my Dad is looking down on this whole babyboom and laughing.....BTW....he was a twin, too....

Yes, where can I get the pattern? I keep sane knitting/crocheting baby blankets.
I live in Utah, where birthin' babies is a cottage industry. ;)

www.crochetmore.com/babysabcsafghan When doing the finishing I didn't put the popcorn stitches around the edges as the pattern called for....felt the afghan was heavy enough....besides my fingers were getting tired by then....
