When both windows are done he will put oak frames around them to really secure them up there.

Also here is another of his wood pictures a different covered bridge

Carol, your work is gorgeous. I'd like to ask you a couple of questions...

My brother dabbles in stained glass...actually, he had his wife take a class or two and then come home and teach him. Yeah, like I'd ever do that. Get your own butt to school! But I digress...

He said you can't do it on either carpet or hardwood floor because of the teeny glass shards that are by-products. True? I would love to take up this hobby, but I don't really have a place to do it.

Did you take a class(es)??? Would it be difficult to self-teach?

You use patterns, right? In other words, you need no 'drawing' type of talent? If artistic, drawing talent is needed, I'd have a bunch of stained glass windows with stick figures...

Thanks for your reply!

PS: We love living in Tennessee. But now that I have the time for 'school', there's nothing offered down here!!!! I'd love to take some cooking classes, and stained glass classes...ain't it true that everything in life is a tradeoff...

Mitch, I bet you could check out UT Martin or Murray St in KY and they would have an adult Ed class for each of these. When I did my stained glass/mosaics at home I put down heavy rubber matts over the carpet to keep the glass shards out of the carpet. It can be done.

Carol, your piece is beautiful. Now can/will you crank those windows out to open them or are they stationary? Thank goodness you don't have to install them. Your Bill's a keeper. :D

Thank you - no those windows never get opened, would have to climb a ladder to crank them open.
I've finally started to work on the second one. Have the two top flowers done and am starting on one of the bigger ones. Have to be in the mood to do it.
