Keeping busy with quilting and stained glass

To pull myself out of my blue funk I did some quilting - I never made placemats for Easter or spring so thought it was a good time. The octagone one I will quilt after I take a "machine quilting class" next month.

These were fun to make and the edges of the flowers will fray and ravel as they are washed.

And I'm doing two stained glass windows for the high windows in living room. Each will be 20 x 40

Starting on one - will take a while to finish

Will keep you posted on progress.

Nice work! Love stained glass. Made one piece myself years ago (with the help of a dear friend who had all the equipment, etc). It is in one of mykitchen cabinets and will most likely stay there forever.

Oh, I would dearly love to learn to do stained glass. My brother and SIL did it for years and sold their work at special shows. I never lived close enough to them to have them show me how it all was done. I do watch a show on the PBS channel with a lady called Vicki Payne. She has allot of guests using glass in crafts. I'd also love to own a kiln and do some bottle slumping. Oh, to dream...
Love the placemats, too. Very nice work, Carol!

I love your work ... and I love stained glass. Getting that window in up high
was probably quite the project. I'm bringing my sewing machine with me on
my next trip and I'll do a couple of smaller projects. I'll share pix of those
as they become reality.
