Nailed it!

Postby dpf » Mon Feb 26, 2018 5:08 pm

I started this and wasn't too sure that I would finish it! Now I have to decide who I'm going to give it to. It's a toss up between my friend, Faye, or giving it to the local Pink Ladies Dart League. They generate funds for cancer patients and could use it for one of their silent auctions. I gave them an afghan last Fall.

Sheila, it is crocheted. http://www.yarnspirations.com/patterns/ ... fghan.html It really wasn't hard Alice. It's rated intermediate level. There is a video clip with the pattern that shows how to do the cable. I didn't use the Bernat Blanket yarn. I used Caron One-Pound off white. 4 1/2 skeins. Made the price a lot more reasonable. Because I changed to a lighter weight I added 18 stitches, enough for one more cable pattern in the width. Used a K hook.

Boy, if you lived nearby I’d be over ALL the time having you show me how to do that! I learned to crochet about 4 years ago & just can’t figure out how to read those blasted patterns. It’s like a foreign language to me!

Well done, friend!

Gorgeous. Whoever ends up with that is very lucky!

know what you mean....have such a hard time reading patterns I posted the afghan that I just finished on FB today but it's the only pattern that I've felt comfortable with...my granddaughter wants me to make her a beanie oh but that means reading a pattern

This is beautiful! Both ideas are good. Maybe you will have to make another ;) I knitted as a child and crocheted for awhile. Think I gave it up for other crafty hobbies, back in my craftier days. My daughter crochets and has a little business. Look her up on Facebook. Holly Would Crochet. She is self taught and I've seen some stitches she's invented. Beautiful! She can read patterns and can even read foreign patterns. She does custom work, too. If you envision it, she can make it. She loves 3 dimensional projects. Wouldn't it be fun to have her come to a GTG and give a little class?
