Quilt for RV

I made a;quilt for the RV from t-shirts I've been collecting for years on our travels. Very seldom wore any of them so thought this was a good way to enjoy them.
Figuring in cost of the shirts it is the most expensive quilt I've ever made.

finally got photobucket to cooperate - this is the material I used for the backing. It is a world map.

Neat idea Carol. I have enough t-shirts to do that. Only problem would be I have no idea how to make a quilt. :o

Very cool! I remember your picture quilt, which I also loved. Great job.

This is beautiful and what a way to keep the memories alive! I have bins of shirts dating from my sons birth to present. All ready to be made into a quilt but I'm not that skilled...I did see a site online that would make a quilt for you using your shirts. Perhaps I will do that if I can find it again. Thanks for sharing this

I went on line to find directions - lots of different sites - so I just used parts of ideas from several of them as none of the pictures on my t-shirts were the same size. like putting together a puzzle.

That is wonderful!! What a great way to use all those memory T-shirts. I also love the world map for backing. :D

Did you have to use backing/interface to control the stretch in the knit? Or did the woven fabric strips stabilize them enough? Your corners are really sharp! That is tricky work. Congratulations!

I rough cut the pieces of the shirt that I wanted to use then used iron on interfacing on the back of all them they still stretched a little in a few places but not much.
