Nailed it...and burned fingers to prove it!

Postby dpf » Wed Oct 12, 2016 9:51 am

Yesterday I decided to try to get crafty. After Christmas last year I bought everything on sale for 70% off and the sacks had sat on the floor in the guest room ever since. Last trip to Wally World I finally remembered to buy glue sticks. I don't know what inspired me yesterday but I decided to try my hand on making a ornament wreath because I have wanted one forever, but was always too cheap to buy one at craft fairs. After a couple of movies on Lifetime....three burned and blistered fingers I finished it....well except for a bow.

Now that looks like Christmas! :D Very pretty!

Poor fingers -- battle wounds, eh? I always seem to burn myself with the glue guns.

It's beautiful! Put some lavender oil on those fingers and hope they heal quick so you can tie bow! That will look lovely on wall or door.

Thanks for the complements! I'm not overly excited about the colors. I wish there would have been packs of bulbs with a variety of colors instead of just the three, but they were all sold and since it was my first attempt I didn't want to invest a wad of cash! My fingers are pretty much healed up except for the index finger on my left hand and that has a good sized blister on it. If I ever make another one I'll make sure I have a bowl of cold water by me!

Great job on the wreath.
Yes you need to buy more material as seasons change to make one for all occasions. You'll be churning them out quickly with just a little practice.
