Delicate Arch in Arches National Park near Moab Utah
We climbed a killer 2 mile hike straight up to get to it but once I was up there it was fantastic!! Photographers were all lined up to get sunset shots and yelled for everyone to get away from the Arch to capture the moment.
I'm in the photo in front of the left side of the Arch, someone else is to the right.

We went thru the campground not far away, it was really nice, not real BIG RIG friendly but if you have something smaller they are nice.

I'll attest to they're nice if smaller - since I'm smaller. It's a wonderful, beautiful area - I didn't have time when I was there for the hike, but will definitely do it next time - oh, so beautiful in that entire area!

Arches is where all our schoolkids go for class field trips throughout their school years. And everyone here heads for Moab in the Fall, Winter and Spring for biking and 4-wheeling. I really enjoy just hanging out at the campground and wandering around downtown and of course, oooohing and aaaahing at Arches. There is also a fun place just south of Moab... it's a house in the rock. Built in the 40's or 50's, I think, it's now a tourist spot with tours, etc. and exotic animals.... very neat if you are in the area.

Jenny, you're right that's a killer hike up there. For those who haven't been, it's a trail up slickrock, the path marked by rock cairns and residue of melting tennis shoes. LOL! Start out early, 'cuz OMG, once that slickrock heats up, YEEEEK!!!

That area is beautiful, isn't it? The rock house was a hoot. Didn't you love the stuffed donkey in the living room?

We love that area. Besides jeeping in Canyonlands, hiking, etc. we had a great time on the ranger hike thru the fiery furnace. carold
