few pictures I took while walking through the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix AZ
Saguaro grow all over the desert area here and some grow retarded. The tour guide
said its not known why some of them do this......

and believe it or not, moss does grow in the desert

a beautiful in bloom display of Aloe

Cholla is common also but this variety is nothing like what I'm used to seeing.
called paper spined cholla grows in Western Argentina and Brazil

Organ pipe cactusImage

Mammillaria Compressa from Central America
I thought these were kinda cool cause they grow in little mounds

more to come, including the Chihully exhibit that was going on there.

Ava, the different forms of cactus are so interesting. I agree the Aloe is really pretty. I've grown some for years, but never enough to see such a display. That would make a good puzzle, hint hint.

Thanks for posting them.

NEAT cactus photos, Ava! I had no idea aloe ever got blossoms! I have a huge aloe plant here, but no sign of any blooms, I don't believe...I'll have to look more closely now!

Thanks for the pics! I need some color up here in this world of white on white!
