iPad App for Television

While I was reading Red's morning post, something she said about DH not liking their spot because of no tv reception reminded me of an app on my iPad.

It's called TV TOWERS USA. It's $0.99. App shows where all the local broadcast stations are located, and their broadcast distance, so you can properly point your OTA antenna.

PS: Soos, OTA = Over The Air.

Thank you Mitch. Definitely need that. Our tv antenna even has a remote control to move it, but you need to know which way to point it :P

Here's a screen shot from my iPad. If you look real close, you can see a tiny arrow by "ME". That is the direction my iPad is facing. The arrow moves are you turn your iPad around.

This app will not help find satellites for your direct TV. It tells you where TV antennas are broadcasting the free TV programming. Then you can direct your TV antenna toward the source for better reception. We use the TV antenna when we are unable to use the Direct TV like when we were parked under too many trees or a heavy cloud cover to pick up the satellite signal.

There is also a Directv satellite pointing app. It's called SAToolz DTV.

You point your device (in my case, iPad) up toward the southern sky and bright red indicator dots (with satellite numbers) pop up. This shows you where to point your non-automated Directv antenna.

I do not know if there is a similar version for Dish Network.

Here's a screen shot of the SAToolz DTV (I know - it's my kitchen, but it's still pointing in the right direction):

thanks Mitch and Chris
when they hooked up the direct tv did something stupid (think the guy didn't know how to put direct tv in an rv) so down stairs in the lv I can't get
regular antenna tv but can get cable when in a campground where they have free cable...however in the bedroom can't get cable when you have that opportunity but can get tv from the antenna IF you know how...he didn't show me how to do it...
but I'm finally have tv again...son in law came out took the bad tv out was going to bring the tv from the bed room (a flat screen which I want but want a larger screen than that one is) turned around and said why don't I bring out the tv you guys gave us the kids are arguing over it anyway...so he did that!! is it the tv I want no but right now it is ok at least I have a picture and my direct tv works..
