Lyn, I often think about you and your Hazel.

It is wonderful that you have found each other, and get along so very well.

My leg is much better today. And the whole situation would have not been so bad if they had filed the dog's nails after clipping them. I have clipped a lot of dogs toenails, and the result is very sharp until they either wear them down a bit on pavement or until you file them. Luckily most dogs come up to you wagging their tails, but feet on the ground. I knew this one was going to be trouble because he was jumping and tugging on the leash.

Went out for a drive today to make sure my vehicle was OK before I head to Midway, about 100 miles south of here and truly in the middle of nowhere--25 miles from gas and 50 miles from a real grocery store. Going to fill up with gas and add a few grocery items to my stash so I don't have to drive out to get food.

Older son's big six-hour Whipple pancreas surgery is on Wednesday. He will spend a couple of weeks in the hospital afterwards. He is having it done in San Francisco and the mother of some friends is loaning my DIL an apartment near the hospital. He will take two months off from teaching, and his wife has scheduled one month off her job as a principal. I offered to fly out there, but kids are 16 and 18, and they said they have it covered.
