Presidents Day Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Presidents Day Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Feb 19, 2018 9:04 am

Good Morning. Coffee’s ready. Time to get up sleepy heads. Nothing in particular on agenda here today. Rain coming in later and into tomorrow. Need some kibble for the girls, so will run up and get some. Thinking summer here, made camping reservations for a few nights, July 4th week. Huge campsite at Indian Lake State Park in the U.P.

Alice, sorry the deal fell through. Time to move on and throw it in storage. Y’all have a nice day out there.

Good morning
I have no regrets of the deal falling through with the fifthwheel. There will be better opportunities ahead for me. Today I will concentrate on clearing up the clutter and extra stuff I stashed in the motorhome.
Although I will continue to live in the motorhome but spend plenty of time in the fifthwheel completing my "to do" list. In the meantime, I wait for my storage yard to get a spot for me.
It was definitely nice to run a hot bath in the fifthwheel last night. Son was a big help yesterday to get the deck removed and then we went to lunch.
My mind is too full of random thoughts today to concentrate on any kind of a proper post, y'all have a good day and be safe.

Good Morning! I’ve been AWOL for a while. No reason just not much going on around here. I enjoyed the pictures of the Hardee Lake GTG. It appears that a good time was enjoyed by all! So glad that Lyn’s daughter is doing great with rehab. Good news that Harold doesn’t have anything broken. And Peaches is doing better. Hope I haven’t missed anyone. I read posts but can’t remember everything!

Pam was given the green light to go back to work so I’m back to working only a couple afternoons a month. I could have more hours if I were willing to work nights, but I prefer the 1-7 shift without the jukebox going full blast and the young crowd. Back to being a hermit! I’ve finished one afghan, it’s a wedding gift and the wedding isn’t until September 15th. Usually I’m crocheting on the way to the wedding! I’m close to finishing another one it’s a cable stitch design and it’s been a little slow going. I’m also working on a paint by number picture, but not progressing very fast. It’s not as much fun as I thought it would be and it’s easier to crotchet and watch movies than it is to paint.

Lost our power and internet service for about three hours while I was writing this yesterday and didn’t get back to it. So I’ll finish it up now.

Saturday night I was invited to a gender reveal party for a friend’s daughter and her husband. It was a diaper/keg affair. Bring a package of diapers and drink from the keg. Any reason for a party I guess. My gender reveals took place in the delivery room! I don’t like keg beer but brought my diapers anyway. I hope that baby is in newborn diapers for a long time. You could tell who had already had a baby…they brought the larger sizes all their single friends brought newborn.

Looks like we’re in for some stormy weather. We’ve been having warm (for this time of year) weather and most of the snow is gone. But there is a system moving across the state and apparently we’re in its path.

Have a good week!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Mornin' ladies~~~
In Apache Junction, AZ with Eileen and her DH. taking a look at a trailer today that is specifically built for off road boondocking. Want her opinion. Better insulated, bigger tanks with the blankets on the tanks, better Goodyear tires, off road shocks & sits a bit higher, etc. Nothing wrong with my Imagine, just thinking I could really dry camp & get into the NPs.

Cold front came in today and windy. Keeping my eye on Show Low, AZ since I'll be starting a slow trek north in March.

Nothing else here. Just living the dream. Have a great day and stay safe where ever you are.

Nothing here but Lark wanted her friends to know it was her birthday. Not that she is doing anything special, she just doesn't want to be called the pooper, I mean the puppy anymore. She is a big girl now! Start a small project tomorrow that should last about two weeks. The dogs will adjust even if they won't be excited by the change in daily plans.

I was not at all surprised when I drove past Gilbert Ray CG late yesterday afternoon and saw their full sign. I was expecting it. So casino lot it is. Supposed to be lousy weather today, so I'm staying here, probably till my Wed morning appt for the water heater. Sorry, Judy... If anything changes I'll let you know.

This parking lot is the busiest I've ever seen it. RV's everywhere. And while I still was up late, I slept like a baby and Peaches and I are still in bed!

Cool (mid 50's) and windy today. Had a little rain last night.

Was busy at work yesterday due to the haircut sale. Will be even busier today being a holiday. Sale goes thru next Friday. Tips usually aren't very good during sales but so far I have gotten about $5 per haircut so that is pretty good!

Nothing much else new here. Hope you all have a good day! :D

Beth, I'll be back here on March 5 for another week, but I will probably be busy on the weekend of that week. On this coming Wednesday, I am headed to McDowell Regional Park in Phoenix and then White Tank Mountain, before I return here.

I had some old neighbors stop by today. My parents built a cottage on the tip of Michigan's Thumb, directly on Lake Huron in about 1948. His parents built a cabin two doors down at the same time and the kids and mothers spent every summer up there until we were all out of high school, plus our parents became friends outside of the cottage for another couple of decades. He's about four years younger than me, but we both had younger brothers and over the years got to know a lot of each other's relatives, so it was nice to catch up with him and his wife. And in fact, he is good friends with one of my younger cousins and sees him a lot more than I do, so he caught me up on him!

Hi all,
Finally a 'nesting' day in So Cal. Temp is 51, cloudy & cold wind outside. Hope Sadie doesn't need to go out very much tonight. Low expected is 39! My blood has definitely adapted to California winters. I even had to close my patio door & turn on the furnace. :o

Sorry the deal fell thru, Ava - but as you said - better things are in store for you.
Glad you slept well, Beth & to hear that Peaches is improving. Maybe you're finally able to relax a little now.
Sarah, glad you're in Florida - away from the cold & rain at home. Thanks for the GTG pics - love seeing all the fun.
Sue, you really outdid yourself with ideas for the MI GTG - so much to do/places to see...

I've been back over a week from my KS trip & really appreciate being out here. They had extreme cold (-3 one morning) & snow & after working in the office, I appreciate working remotely even more than ever. Don't think I'd last very long in a cubicle working silently for hours with the only sound is the clicking of keyboards. My kitchen table is my office here - I love watching & hearing the birds, watching the trees sway with the wind, following the movement of the sun throughout the day & being able to sweep the patio if I'm stuck on figuring out something. Being around my co-workers was really nice, but i'm definitely spoiled here.

I got to hang out with my son & DIL, saw my KS grands & hold my first great-grand baby. So adorable, so tiny... amazing how life continues on.

Well, I'm going to get back to 'nesting' a bit. Warm soup is probably in order for tonight.
Take care,
Catheriner

Yep, today reminded me of a typical fall day in MN. Dark clouds, cool, windy, off and on sprinkles. Just like a day in September or October. Would be a good time to make chili or goulash!
