Surprise from Bikerchic!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Surprise from Bikerchic!

Thought I would totally shock and surprise you all. It's been 6 months since my last post. I just don't get on the computer much anymore and it's too hard to use the forum on my smart phone.

I worked my 6th peak at Amazon, in KY, then headed south a few hours to my brother's in TN. Stayed there until Christmas morning. Had a nice visit and got to see my niece and nephew and nephew's wife. My SIL's brother and his 3 girls came, so there were 10 of us. Lots of cooking and eating. Visited my friend,
Jerry, who worked in the convenience store in SD the summer before last. He's in Moultrie, GA. He was a gracious host, with lots of eating out at his and girlfriend, Barbara's, favorite local cafes. I've been visiting friends around FL. Met a 2nd cousin down here. The last time I was down here was the winter of 2009-01. That's when I first joined the forum and I was married. Liz was the first sistah I met and we had lunch and went kayaking together. She used my inflatable and bought one after that, as I recall. I figured it was time to visit great friends, old and new, down here. I'm currently in Marathon, in the Keys. I have friends who have workamped year round here for 10 years! I met them when they were workamping at the park I stayed at in El Centro, CA my very first winter RVing. Great people! They cut me an awesome deal so I could come visit. It's great to have connections ;) I've seen the Keys, and there is still so much Irma devastation, so I think I will head out on Monday. Probably staying at the casino north of Homestead for a couple of nights and then go visit a friend in West Palm Beach. Hoping the cold weather is over down here by then. It has followed me all the way down here!

Hey, welcome back! I hope you get by to see me while you are here, or on your way back north. I'm in Dowling Park near Live Oak in northern Florida. Good kayaking here on the Suwannee River.

Good Morning! Hi, Linda, nice hearing from you. Sounds like you are having fun down there.

Yesterday it was so warm when I was walking Benji, I had to cross over to the shady side of the street.

I am getting some dental work done. I didn’t go to Algodones because my passport expired.

Off to my guitar lesson this morning. Martha, your fingers turned green? How ever did that happen.

Morning. Good to see you on here, Linda... I do all my posting from my phone or I'd never be on.

Just got off the phone with a government office. They claim I never cancelled my health insurance policy through the marketplace when I started Medicare. Thus I am being charged for Januarybecause even though I did cancel, somehow they automatically renewed... And I'll be charged over $200 this month, plus my Medicare charges and my supplemental policy charges. I thought I was broke before this phone call! And now, again, I'm told the cancellation is put through, but it takes two weeks... So the insurance company will charge me for a full month, then after the 20th the insurance company has 30 days to refund the unused portion of the month. Now, the insurance company was also contacted in November, but they say that the Marketplace re-upped me, not their fault. Ack! Of course, no matter what, it's my fault.

Otherwise, beautiful weather here. And after my shift today, 8 days off. I believe this is the only remaining of my weeks off that I won't be out gallivanting. Peaches has a vet appt Monday and I'm going to see about an audiology appt for me. I want new hearing aids, but am not sure I'm ready for the expense. That said, I'll see what my audiologist says.

Have a great day everyone!
Beth

Just past morning here. Still cold and now with threat of ice overnight Sunday.
Good to see you post Linda.
Beth - the insurance company sounds like a real nightmare. Good luck with the hearing aids.
I've got to get to my bookkeeping - having a hard time getting started.

Hi Linda, great to hear from you. Sounds like you are having a great winter visiting friends and family. Love hour new house on wheels too. Take it you are heading back to SD this summer. Should be a GTG organized for out there, be a great place to do it. So much to see and do even if one has been there before. Plenty of campgrounds for a big crowd. The dogs and I just got back from a walk. First one in 3 days. Molly was giving me the business, the sun is shining, barely enough wind to stir my flag and temp about 5. So deemed it a walking day. They needed to get rid of energy. They were in a chasing session with each other before we even left the yard  I just dropped their leads on the road and let them sniff and snoop and play and whatever. Nap time now :D

Otherwise just puttering around here. Debating if I want to make 4th of July reservations at my favorite state park or wait for another time. Grab my favorite site while I can. Kinda thinking summer a bit. RV show here next weekend. Something to do in mid winter. Admission is by donation or 3 non perishable food items. All goes to the local homeless shelter. They raised $9,000 last year. Put on by a local RV place that handles a variety of Forest River brands and also a couple other dealers from northern Michigan.

Had my breakfast, cleaned up, and am ready to do almost nothing for the rest of the day!! If I get the energy, I will go out and work to clean out the two front storage areas that are connected by a pass-through. Things get shoved in there and then I forget about them. Trying to be ruthless with cleaning and clearing out.

Tomorrow, I am finally going out to get propane and visit the Moapa National Wildlife Refuge nearby. It is not a lot of walking, but I have never been there, so will see.

Yesterday, I saw this little group of adult, male, bighorn sheep wandering next to our campground: https://youtu.be/94dOOIAOlYQ They look positively chubby for living in such a dry place!

Good morning gals!
Linda, great to see you on here this morning! There are quite a few forum gals that are in central Florida and I think there is a GTG coming up around there too.

I slept in til noon today! Must be tired from all the stress! Off to work shortly and then I have tomorrow off. More projects to work on then!

We are finally expecting some rain here on Monday thru Wednesday! Yay! I am anxious to see and hear more water flowing in the creek next to me. Hopefully will also clean off all the dust and dirt all over everything here.

Speaking of dust, I have a thick layer of it inside my house from yesterday with getting the floors done. Need to wipe everything down to remove all that. Was told to get a product called Bona Floor cleaner to use on my new floors, that won't do any damage to them. Will pick that up tonight.

Have a great day and stay warm if you are north, south or east!

Oh, Judy, that's an awesome video. I could have sat there and watched them all day!

Congratulations CArol ,so happy you found a place and have help with getting it ready. Linda I love your RV! Glad to see you post.

For all of you who were wishing for a way to get lotion on your upper back, this could be the answer. I also saw they had them at Bed Bath and beyond.

Lyn, I don't know why the guitar turned my fingers green. The guitar was my brother's and I didn't stay with it very long. Maybe it was cheap strings or wires or what ever they are called. If you google that I think it's something to do with copper.

My son has been messing with the printer for the last 2 hours. Something about it working with the new router. Something tells me that the next time I try to print something it's not going to work.

Yes, the green comes from the copper strings.

I like the plastic strings since they are easier on the fingers than metal ones.
