Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Campground Thursday...

Postby grammynmaggie » Thu Aug 03, 2017 5:44 am

Good morning everyone.... I'm back at Shenango Campground until Tuesday I'm loving this camping business.... Camp driveway at my son's was okay but I had no hookups and the driveway was not flat level it was manageable but just barely so I'm happy to have the amenities today... got my refrigerator going so I'm going to be able to get some groceries for the next 6 days we'll take off to Walmart later this morning get them and come right back.... will do some deep cleaning in this rig still need to be organized more....Pheebe is having a real hard time this trip she's still not gotten over the fright of the dogs attacking us... she seems to be afraid of everything... she was definitely not a happy camper at my son's... I hope this 6 days can calm her down some... well all for me...B safe...donna

Good morning, Donna. You are back in a nice and familiar campground. Hopefully Phoebe will be happy again. Thistle who had improved a lot in the RV is back to barking at everything and everybody who passes by or comes to my sister's house. I think it's partly because of so many different people coming and going every day....care givers, nurses, physical therapists, paper delivery man, yard man, etc. it's enough to drive anybody nuts, lol. And the phones are constantly ringing too....mostly robo calls. Do not call list doesn't mean much any more.

And then it's hot...no Central AC here. 21 days and counting....three weeks from today I will be on my way south.

Sorry, it seems all I do lately is lament.

Good morning Liz and Donna, and all who follow!

Donna, sounds like you're in for some peace and comfort for a few days, sounds lovely. Hope Pheebe takes a deep doggie breath and relaxes too.

Liz, I remember that particular nightmare, glad you have an end in sight.

Still packing and prepping for the move, lots to do and little inclination to get to it... so I'm meeting a friend today for Mexican food and margaritas instead! :P

The dogs and I are sitting in the campground near my sons old and new home. I will be moving over to the flat driveway of the new house this afternoon in time to meet Sarah, soon to be daughter in law, get a tour of the new place, pick up the two boys from their summer camp and get some dinner. Ben is coming back from a business trip tomorrow early on a red eye flight and I will get a quick visit and leave them to the exciting adventure of moving into their new home.

If I make good time I hope to catch up with Donna on the western side of PA by Saturday!

Liz keep counting those days. Besides the physical strain of your responsibilities it sounds way to people-ly.....hopefully both you and Thistel will get to re-set you minds and spirits later in FL .....in your new Road Trek!

Good Morning gals. Donna, glad you are in campground now. Can get into a routine. Mickie, hoping your move goes smoothly and you future plans come to fruitation, however they play out. Hang in there Liz, the day will come when you can be free again. Too bad you can't come to the Thompson GTG and unwind, but it would definitely be out of your way. CArol, too bad you can't join us, but I certainly nderstand. If you do get to MI to visit your aunt, I'll be heading back to U.P. Later in the month probably.

Not sure what's on agenda today. Was going to paint railings on my deck and back landng, but mother nature is changing my plans. Cloudy with a chance of rain. So, will get into something else. Hope you all have a nice day, whatever it brings.

Tina, you snuck in ahead of me. Sounds like a busy day for you too.

Good Morning Everyone !! I'm happy for those of you in those COE CGs with a big puddle of water :o be it river or lake, the visual thought is great, especially beings you're one of them Donna and just getting a real taste of freedom to do and make choices to your liking. Sure hoping Pheebe can settle down some again, poor little one. What a terrifying experience though will take some time.

Liz, ok, so I don't know what to say :? I think of you every day, knowing exactly what you're in. My Moms situation was much the same without the people or phone calls, so it was a lonely situation for me whereas it sounds to be the exact opposite for you. And two to care for. Peace at your new home and picking up your new RT will soon put things to rights for you, HANG IN THERE! many thoughts going your way !!

Well, I am waiting not so patiently for a return call on these repairs I need done. The fella I talked to yesterday talked in circles , then tells me I need to talk to so and so as he is the one who makes app. So he puts me on hold for other guy, then comes back, talks in circles again and finally says as soon as he is off phone he'll call me. Giving him benefit of doubt here, so will wait until wee after 10 for return call, THEN !!! Hmmmmm

I'm still at DD's, have rested, gotten foot looking and feeling better, caught half the mail up ( bank statement and ckbook :D ) ordered meds and now hopefully will get an app for recall and other. Sounded like they do 4 a month and he kind of talked like it might be a month, well, I don't have that kind of time down here. I'll set a big box filled with pillows in passenger seat and do my thing, and get it fixed in winter months, it's an hr process according to notice. I'll let you all know if I have to have this funny looking passenger for my safety, as it said it could projectile over to driver , so two with one explosion. Nice thought, right ??

Time to shut up CArol :o :D Hoping you all have a great day,
Stay Safe, whatever is on your agenda,
CArol

Oh gosh . . . my kid has come and gone . . . I'm having those goodbye blues!
Doesn't that sound like some kind of country song? If I could just sing and play an instrument, I'd have a bright future as a country singer! Actually, we had a lovely time at the lake, and I really enjoyed his mother-in-law -- I think we're going to be friends. She and my son are a pair of firebugs when it comes to building campfires!

Tina, I hope you have that much fun with your new daughter-in-law!

Oh, Liz, you are in a hard patch! I'm so glad there's an end in sight; it gets really overwhelming. When do you pick up the RoadTrek?

I'm going to whine too. Harold was up at 4:00am wanting to go to the local grocery store that has a kitchen. That was his routine to go get a breakfast sandwich and coffee except they aren't open at 4am. I made him a sausage and egg sandwich and he thinks I went and got it. He is getting weaker but more stubborn.

Our Annie cat was freaking out over all the people coming and going and Harold banging around with the walker. She had started staying out all the time but wouldn't go eat with the outside cats. She was losing so much weight we have to make sure she doesn't get out. She is OCD with the licking and scratching anyway so she is looking pretty scruffy.

We had a pretty good rain during the night and rain predicted for the next 10 days. The temperature has been in the 80 for the last few days so that's nice.

WELL! I got my appointment to have repairs done, and I stayed nice. But we started with a Nov 15th app, ONLY thing he could do hmmmmmm !!!! Then he got in with my vin # and found I have 2 recalls, i had mentioned id have to rig up a big box with pillows to protect myself, drivers was first notice WHICH I NEVER received . So how about August 10th ?? I'm thinking , next year ???. But said next Thursday that would be great!, and he said yes at 9:00, told to be prepared to wait, don't ALL of us know that ? :D So, never got the promised return call, but stated this too in telling who I was and reminded them of why i was calling them again.

So, I have my app. And was allowed to stay oh so sweetly nice !!!!!!!  Now, on to these two grands, who I'm beginning to believe want me to leave with their belongings, I'm certainly NOT getting their things out, but did just warn, if I HAD too it would be near a garbage bin somewhere, so as long as they didn't need or want any of it, I could do that. Stated also in nice and pleasant voice !!! So far so good, maybe I'd better quit for today

Days almost half gone, maybe it's pool time for me, grands have a few things to do first.
Hope you all are having a good one,

CArol, I'm laughing at the images you gave in both your messages. Liz, I'm crying for you. I'll count the days with you.

I only worked about 4 hours today (my day off). The weather has cooled off; it's gorgeous. I'm going to be a bum, but also am too lazy to walk to the cemetery... So this afternoon I'll drive Peaches there for off leash time. I'll take a book. This weekend should be our busiest weekend of the summer. I'm hoping so, we need good sales as it'll be pretty much downhill after this coming week, with a last hurrah Labor Day weekend. It doesn't mean I'll be working less, although I'm hopeful to start getting a real day off again occasionally. :) I've already forgotten the quick two days I haven't had a chance to blog about.... Hmmm, maybe I'll fit that in today.

Safe travels or sitting stills everyone!

Here I am, camped at Rock Creek. 7000 ft. Takes energy to breathe. There are 22 people in our group. Little kids running around like squirrels. I enjoy watching them. All their parents were teenagers when we started camping here.

Barbie, mytrailer is much smaller than yours. I am able to pull it with a 6V Colorado. My maximum weight for both the truck and trailer is 12000 lbs. I weighted on the way up here and the combined weight was 8100. So under by 4000 lbs.

The truck Sheila suggested sounds right for you.

Beth, I will be seeing you in early Sept. we can talk plans at that time. It would be fun to set up a GTG somewhere/anywhere.

Keep counting those days Liz? Martha, what an ordeal you are going through!

Good afternoon gals,
Not much happening here right now. A tad bit cooler today with some cloud cover.

Car is still in the shop. They said they discovered the tranny is getting too hot while driving so they want to look into it more to find out why. Bill was gonna call too to get more info. Makes me feel better knowing he is looking out for me!

Will be going to Carol and Bills for dinner later on. They don't live too far from where I am staying. Can't wait to see all her projects!

If I will be here for another couple days, I might take the free shuttle to the strip or downtown. Have been both places but always fun to look around anyways. Lots of interesting shops, hotels, casinos and great people watching!

Martha, I feel for what you are dealing with. It must be very sad and frustrating for you!

And Liz too. Hang in there, take deep breaths, find some quiet time to destress when you can.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Liz, you are a hero for that caring you took on! And I love Tina's comment that it sounded "way too people-ly." I agree. With all that help needed, how are they going to manage without you? Don't let yourself get sick.

I have very little cell service right now and am sweltering in this northwest heat. Got up to 99 today in Bend, OR. I did a lot of expensive schedule adjusting so I could get electric and AC. I just cannot handle the heat any more. Trade-off for electric was no satellite tonight and tiny amount of cell and internet, so I found a shady parking spot at the High Desert Museum and spent a couple of hours updating my blog and working online with the generator running and AC on. Supposed to start cooling down tomorrow.

Almost had another emergency with my elderly aunt and uncle in Georgia. I was supposed to go down there for their next doctor appointments at end of August, which was when I was going to stay with my son and family. But then they decided they are going to try to find local person to drive them to doctors. At least I did not have time to cancel any reservations or make plane reservations!!!

Martha I wish I could remember the name of the medicine they give my bil as he was up and about in the night time..I actually think I have heard it advertised for people who are blind and get their days and nights turned around...but perhaps you can talk to your dr and see if he will prescribe something for your husband it's going to affect your health soon if you miss out in a lot of sleep...seems like it was rest....something I will try and ask my sister and see if she will give me the name of it
