New Years Eve day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

New Years Eve day

Postby Colliemom » Wed Dec 31, 2014 7:27 am

Good Morning,

Brrrr is the word this morning. And it's not just here. Seems a lot of the country having cold. Maybe it will keep people in more and not spread the flu bug around. It's bad up here.

So, here we are, the last day of 2014. If you have any thing you want to accomplish, only got a few hours to do it
I was just watching an ad on TV that said zero percent financing till 2020' and that's only five years fom now  Seems like we were all holding our breaths for Y2K and 2000 to arrive.

No New Year's celebrating here tonight. Molly and I wil be in bed long before midnight. Right now she is sleeping with our shoes. Amazing how she has latched on to them for nap time. I am so fortunate not to have a destructive puppy. She also has graduated from needing pee pads in her pen now too.

Judy, no worry about MI parks getting filled up in June. Not till late in month mostly just prior to July 4th. Seems like everybody crams it in from there till Labor Day or a week or two before.

Barb, glad to hear news on your dad and also about doctor. Hope you get much better results in the coming year.

So, want to take this time to wish you all a Very Happy New Year! May it be filled with good health, many blessings and all those hopes and dreams come true. :)

good morning ladies
well, it did rain a little this morning but has stopped now. Glad thats out of the way so I can enjoy the fireworks from the casino tonight. Although the weather channel is calling for rain until about dinnertime. Right now its only 44*, so much better than the last two mornings at freezing. It happens every few years, two nights of freezing temps and I whine about it, so sorry for those that deal with freezing temps all winter :o
Don't really have any plans for today, wanting to tidy up the yard, items on my deck that belong next door and put some of my own stuff away that was meant to make its way out to my shed. Also some items inside that need to make their way next door as well
Paycheck is in the bank early cause of the holiday, so might go get my hair cut today, otherwise, its pay some bills and plan the budget until the next payday.
Not much else to talk about, hoping everyone has a wonderful New Year and blessings to all.

G'morning all :)

Hey Ava, "not much to talk about"?? Well, did you forget we had a great visit yesterday  & hope you can visit me to watch fireworks at casino tonight...I said adios to Anita on Mon, but it was later in the afternoon, so I stayed another night in Q. Arrived in Mesa/Phx around 2 yesterday, & Ava & Scout came to visit on the spot! Scout is a sweetie! But Anita--after putting up with my 3 dogs--more or less said she'd disown me if I adopt another dog

So, yes, we're about to say good-bye to 2014. Barbie, glad your dad will start 2015 in a better place with a new dr. & O'Sharon starting it with a better back ;) Donna, good luck with PT! And all others ailing/suffering, wishing you better health in 2015!

Off to the laundromat--what else to do on a rainy AZ day ;) Visiting with former neighbor this afternoon, then hope my favorite spot at the casino is still available when I return...

Y'all have a great last day of 14, be safe always & I wish y'all good health & happiness in the coming year! It's been such a blessing to have y'all as my forum family, & looking forward to meeting more of you in person this year! 8-)

Good Morning from snowy Salome, Arizona!!

I have my portable satellite dome on the roof and it didn't set up very well yesterday. When I woke up, I thought I'd open the roof vent, pull the 12 volt plug in and reset the satellite. Imagine my surprise when I stuck my head out in snow!! Thank goodness I didn't let L talk me out of the 'hard to manage' car cover for the Slingshot!

Barbie, glad your dad's doctor retired, and that your dad is not fighting rehab. Donna, I learned about shoes several years ago - the hard way. Hope you'll find relief. Ava, you and I are gonna be on Carolb's naughty list if we aren't careful! Yes, I did tell her she needed to leave Scout behind. I do love her dogs, but..... Must admit I would love to play with Molly while she is a pup.

I have promised myself a day of genealogy - need at least one a year!!

Wishing you all everything good in 2015! Happy New Year!!

Safe and happy New Year's Eve everyone. Flitter came home from the RV hospital yesterday with her generator all fixed ($477!) and my go-to son and I ran down to Sears and bought her a nice, new Diehard battery with more cranking power than previous ($180). Now I feel ready for Q! Yikes! When did batteries get so expensive?

Poured all night here and it's about as cold as it can get for So. Cal. Freeze warnings 2-3 nights in a row. How did I survive New England? For some reason when its cold here it seems to penetrate into the bones more. Or maybe I'm just old? Naw. Have to drive the 24 miles to the eye specialist and back today in the rain, but plan to be off the highways by the time the revelers hit the roads.

Hope you all have a wonderful 2015.

I'm waiting on the vet to call me about Frosty. They close at noon and I'm 10 miles from town so he better hurry if he wants me to pick him up. Hope Frosty is feeling better.

Carolb, I don't think you need another dog either. lol You were making me nervous with all the leads when you just had 2. After tripping over a cat I think about falling all the time.

Pooker, glad you got your motorhome back and ready to go to Q. I don't know when the batteries got so high but they are. I bought 2 of the maintenance free batteries for my coach and that was sticker shock. Had to get a new tire after the last trip. At least I have my tires age spread out so I don't have to buy 6 at one time.

The vet finally called. He can't find anything that is causing Frosty's white blood count to be high. He will have another round of antibiotics and see if that helps. He is staying in the house for a while so he doesn't eat anymore mice.

Good Afternoon, Yes it is hard to believe it is almost 2015  It does seem as though not that long ago we were worried about Y2K. Carol, if Ava and Anita don't appreciate you come back to Illinois, it isn't that much colder here. But if you are considering taking Scout, start singing that old song about 'You better stop and think it over" :)
I am so glad that the acupuncture has helped my jaw/tooth, whatever pain!! I am about 75% better than yesterday. I went to lunch with ladies from my high school class and I ate like a piggy! It has hurt so to eat I hadn't been eating much, guess I had to make up for lost calories.
I hope everyone has a Happy New Year with many exciting, happy days ahead.

 no, Carol isn't taking Scout, although she really liked the little chunky guy, but you know even Carol realizes 4 dogs in a roadtrek is a bit much  I'm just waiting for the rescue group to let me know which foster home has a space, he's on their list and soon as they have room for him he goes. Everyone was on hold until after Christmas and especially since my contact was on vacation for the holidays. Scout is a dear heart but much too active for me.

Spending time recently with Carol has made me rethink whether I want a 2nd dog. It's so easy with one, and Peaches happens to be a dog that likes being the "only".

Just did some catch up with my blog - links in a thread in the general room. Still missing Carol's and my day in Tombstone - but I'm tired - have been on the computer way too long. And I'm in a sitting area off the rec hall. One woman just came and asked me if all was ok - that I'd been here before she went to town, and she's been and back - including a Walmart trip. That's too long lololol

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Years. I think I'll throw in a load of laundry. But maybe I'll come over and listen to some of the entertainment. Maybe.

Worked all day and am tired. Not sure if I will make it to midnight!

Pooker, I am surprised you didn't wake up to snow this morning. I saw photos of Lake Elsinore with a inch or two of snow down there and I think you are higher up than they are. Temecula got 3-4 inches of snow and they are loving it there! Any moisture in SoCal, tho, is good right now.

Got a call yesterday from my dad's renter telling me he is moving to San Diego and giving his 30 day notice. That isn't good news. My dad needs that rent money each month to pay his bills. My brothers and I are going to have to sit down and tell him he has to sell the house now. The basement apartment needs way too much work before it could be rented out again and it just isn't worth putting the time and money into it. With all these changes happening in the past week, it seems the Universe is telling us it is time for my dad to move on to assisted living. One good thing is the doctor at the hospital wants the feeding tube removed ASAP, which means my dad would now be eligible for assisted living. Most AL places won't accept someone with a feeding tube. Now we just have to find a way to convince my dad of all this, which won't be easy at all. He won't go down without a fight, I am sure!

Nothing planned for tonight. Just watch a little TV and go to bed early. Tomorrow, will get up to watch the Rose Parade, go see my dad, and come back and do laundry, read, nap, etc.

Have a fun, safe New Years Eve!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
