Good morning Donna and all others!
Up early today checking the blogs that I read regularly. Nick Russell's Gypsy Journal is one of my favorites. I learn a lot there!

Donna. hope the morning goes well with your appointment and you begin to get some relief. I wish I could find some cure for my sciatic hip pain. Some days it feel crippling!
BJ, wish you could have had some of my spanakopita yesterday... it turned out really good! Not too many people like spinach but it's a winner in this household. Today I am making lamb chops for DH since he is off on Christmas semester break from teaching. Wish we could venture out on a trip but too much to do here right now.

Catherine, good to hear that I am not the only one that hates those steep mountain roads!

Thanks for reassuring me yesterday about my possible plans for the summer trip, Natchez and/or Michigan. I don't think we could go wrong with either one. I wanted to find somewhere to go that 3 weeks would fit in nicely and not be rushed.

Going to order the Mountain Directories today, need to have them regardless. Couldn't find them in Barnes and Noble but the mountain directory website has them for $31.90 if you order both. Anyone know of any place cheaper to get them??

Be safe everyone,
Karen

Good Morning Donna and all,

Good luck with your therapy this morning Donna. I'm sure it will help you feel better.

Karen, if you get to MI. You will have no problem with any of our roads or the Mackinaw Bridge. There's a lot to see up here as well as the U.P. I'll be glad to tell some places to make sure you see. Hmm, enough gals coming to Mi, might mean a GTG if you are all thinking same time roughly. I'm sure Louise (HavingFunNow) would be game for that as she lives in MI too.
And go see a Chiropractor about that hip pain Karen, they can help you as they did my dad. He suffered from that too and said he felt much better and was even moving around better too.

Now that I'm home and been to the store, the breakfast offerings are better. Eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, toast, bagel, oranges, bananas, etc. And Amish made butter or honey too. Take your choice.

Nothing much on agenda here today. Some snow, maybe an inch or two. Molly will be happy. Plan to run vac and then do some file cleaning out and get some paperwork ready for next year's record keeping. Working on jigsaw puzzle too.

You all have a nice day today :)

good morning ladies :D
finally got my driveway back, whoop whoop, all the extra vehicles are now set up next door, except the motorcycle, its still parked in front of my shed but I think its going next door today and back into the trailer. I've heard something about rain over the new years, hope not, the Casino and the reservation do lots of fireworks, and I think rain would put a little damper on that.
Don't know what other plans I have for today, I'm just taking it as it comes lately. I did get my appt made for the ortho doctor, but its 3 weeks away and I'll have to take the morning off work. I do not expect it to interfere with my trip to Q.
Not much else going on in my neighborhood, ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Just stopping in to say hi and good morning! Off here soon to go pick up my dad from the hospital. He is going to a care center near his house for transitional care. Hoping that goes well. He has been to this place before and liked it and the people there, so he was a little more agreeable to doing this.

Take care and have a good day! :D

ON EDIT: Just found out that my dad's worthless 76 year old doctor just retired!!! Yay! Now we can find him a real doctor!

Good morning all! We finally have seen a little sun the last couple of days. Amazing how that can perk me up! Donna, sure hope the p.t. helps you. I finally went to the chiropractor a couple of times last week and my back is so much better now. Still a little touchy but improving. I found someone closer to home and I think it'll work out. She and I seem to be on the same page so that's a relief to me. I don't take to drugs very readily so this is a good solution for me.

I was up early this morning so I could get dressed and ready for "the guy" to come install a new garbage disposal and some new led lights under my cabinets. So now I wait, he said they'd "probably" be able to get to it today and I couldn't pin him down for time. Guess it means anywhere from now until 5 or 6 this afternoon. Or not at all. I'm kinda at his mercy. Amazing how difficult it is to find someone to come do little jobs. I need to vacuum so guess might as well do it today since I have to stay home! Darn, no excuse!

Karen, I love spinach! Your spanakopita sounds good! Sue, glad Molly will have some snow to play in! Anything to make our pups happy!! Well, coffee is on and eggs and bacon. I think I'll peel some potatoes and use some bacon in a pan of scalloped potatoes for dinner tonight. My mom used to make it that way and it was so good! Have a safe day and stay warm.

Barbie, just saw your post. Yippee, good news about your dad's doctor! Glad your dad is agreeing to go to the care home. One step at a time!

Sue, I will be in Michigan on and off during June and the first three weeks of July. How about planning a GTG then and I will come??? Best do it soon before the state parks get packed.

I am spending my last morning with my grandkids--flying back "home" this afternoon. "Home" of course is wherever my motorhome is, which right now is near the Tampa Airport. Amazing how much "home" it has become, which of course means I have settled into and love this life style.

Got the beginnings of a sore throat. I hope, hope, hope, it is not due to my visiting the urgent care center when I arrived here on Friday. I had an infected spot on the back of my leg and had to wait two hours. I spend almost all of it waiting outside and in the outer hallway of the urgent care center because it was SO FULL of really sick people the day after Christmas. The waiting room was tiny and stuffed with horrible-looking people--namely horrible-looking because they were coughing and blowing noses and complaining of nausea. I stayed in there just a minute or two to register and then fled for the safer outside. So I really did not spend much time with the sick people and I kept washing my face and hands as much as possible. Terrible time of year to go into a doctor's office. They need sick people and non-sick or injury people waiting rooms. Infection on leg is much better, thankfully!!

Avalen, hope you got Scout off to the rescue people.

Today feels like gumbo weather, cold and damp. I have the turkey bones boiling. Yesterday I took Harold for a check up and it misted on us all the way there and back. He doing good and goes back the end of April to check his blood work. There was no sun yesterday and doesn't look like we will see any today. Going down into the mid 30's tonight.

Harold was going to town so I sent one of our house cats to the vet. I could tell he wasn't feeling good and the vet said he has a fever. He was sick the end of October but saw a relief vet so didn't have any blood work. Waiting to hear if they find anything. Last week he came home with 2 mice and ate them on the porch. UCK! They looked like field mice so don't think they were some that had been poisoned.

I don't like the idea of being in a doctor's office this time of year or even out shopping. Louisiana is one of the states with a high rate of flu. I took a flu shot but now they are saying that it's not a good fit for the flu that's going around. I wash my hands every chance I get when I'm out.

So sorry about everyone in pain. Pain is no fun, whatsoever! As to the hip sciatic pain - make sure you aren't doing anything that is aggravating it. I have sciatica also in my right hip - but pretty much can control it. Maybe because it was discovered so early and after ruling out lots of possible causes, discovered that it was the position my leg is in while driving. I have to have a pillow behind my back in my rv and in any vehicle that has deep seats (I'm short and the seat cutting into the back of my knee was the biggest culprit). If you ever have back pockets, make sure to not put anything in them (that's what they believe causes sciatica in most truck drivers eventually).

From another forum, I've decided I just have to have soup today. Make it this afternoon, then wait to eat until the temps have things getting colder, again. Will be wonderful.

I can't believe it's almost 2015. Wow, this year just flew right by.

Hope everyone is ready to start the new year off (if not, you have one more day to prepare yourself!)- and hopefully it'll be a great one for us all.
