Thursday rainy but warm

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday rainy but warm

Postby carolb » Thu Oct 16, 2014 4:24 am

G'morning all :)

Hey Barbie, is today THE day?? The way I've been eating lately--family here & all--I feel like I could use a good "cleaning" Lyn, you're almost home? RE Amarillo, I didn't spend any time in the city--just love that rest area right at the edge of town, bordering huge open fields. I'll have to hear about the city when we get a chance to visit :)

The past 2-3 days have been almost summer-like! Rain started yesterday afternoon though, & has continued, but it's soooo warm out. I've been sleeping with the windows open. Starting to bring in all my summer stuff--lawn chairs, cushions, lawn ornaments. Leaves are at peak color here, so won't be long before I'm raking.

Kathleen, sorry about the denial from your ins co :( Thanks for letting us know CArol is doing fine. Donna, hope the stone issues are behind you. Liz, good to see you back here again--always fun to hear Thistle stories ;) Anyone who has met Thistle, can picture that cute, silly little face of his trying to TELL you something  Is he still the "treat bandit"??

Last of family leaves today--phew, family!!!! Now I turn to cleaning HB & packing for my winter trip. Looking forward to seeing so many of you again! Ha, forum friends are way more fun than my family

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good morning, Carol, and that follow...

Cooler this morning...the day after the storm...rained until 3am yesterday here in SE GA...then we had a very pleasant and sunny day with nice temps....got the trip to the vet with Spinner done and then came home to do laundry and run the vaccum...

Spinner is on a diet, somewhat... ;) needs to loose about 7 lbs....and when we get an extra $$ or 2 he needs his teeth cleaned...but other than that, he's a healthy, happy 7 year old American Smooth Coat Jack Russell... ;) with all his shots done....and for once the visit was under $100... :)

Meeting up with Barb Zee and Robert for our annual breakfast as they make their way to FL for the winter...then onto get our flu shots...yuck...oh well, got to keep healthy... ;)

We've got a dripping kitchen faucet to deal with...but the rig is 3 yrs. old and we do live in it full-time, so chalk it up to wear and tear...probably need to replace it...Ernie's trying to figure out how do this with it being in a tight and limited space...

Okay, coffee is ready and English muffins toasted...help yourselves.... ;)

Have a great day, all..

Good morning Carolb... And all... I agree The girls on the forum are the best And are much more fun than my family... Wonder why that is..lol... going to a different cardiologists today about the veins in my legs... due to many reasons... I cancelled with the other guy I was never comfortable with... found this doctor and boy am I glad I did.. very stupid of me not to look up the other guy sooner... he had very bad reviews from patients.... anyway have to take dad to get some blood work done today also... so tomorrow I would like to go over to Wickham park.. at least spend the night in empty tank a little getaway for me and Maggie.. depending what's going on I still would like to get a few days at Silver Springs... at least its getting cooler here in Central Florida ...have a fun filled day and be safe ..donna

good morning ladies :D
guess who's parked in my driveway....LYN!!!!! woop woop
the dogs did fine, Scout really likes having company, Maggie is a different story, thinks she has to stay close to me, a few
growls from her but all in all she was fine and made sure Casey curled up in the dogbed behind the recliner.
The dogs are hearing a little stirring outside so I expect they will be up soon.
Not sure what the agenda is for today, we MIGHT go to the rv show today as Lyn wants to find a solar system and I would
suspect they would have a vendor. But research shows its hosted by LaMesaRV but doesn't list any other dealers. Gotta do
more research, Lyn mentioned there was some particular solar system outfit to do the work so we will have to do the
research on that too.
Lori....tell Ernie its just the same as a house only like he suspects...tight spaces. I've done mine and I'll be doing it again.
I just keep putting it off because of the tight space.
Not much else today, ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning to All - it is so nice to be in dry warmer weather. Yesterday was beautiful. A perfect day to roam around. And for the first time in months Bill only had 2 sneezing, runny nose and eyes fits. He can't believe how much better he feels. Hopefully it is because we are going west. It was so nice to see him smile most of the day.
Today we're either going to Wichita or Hutchinson...not sure yet.
We have some croissant breakfast sandwiches and banana bread but not much else - help yourself.

Good Morning from north of Moab, Utah!

Carolb, glad to know you are close to packing up and soon to hit the road! Ava, you and Lyn have a good time whatever you do! Carol, I don't know anything about Wichita anymore, but I enjoyed the Cosmosphere and the underground Salt Mine in Hutchinson. Donna, sorry you are having so much doctor time, but glad to know you found one you are more comfortable with.

So happy to have seen CArol's good report after cataract removal! And what will we do without Liz taking us all over the country? :)

We stopped at Canyonlands for a couple of days - no Verizon - and really enjoyed it. Yesterday we drove up to Arches NP, one of my favorites. I guess someone wasn't really interested. I had thought we'd hike to Delicate Arch, but he wouldn't even walk the little way to the overlook. It's not health issues because he has had no problems with things he wanted to do. After we parked last night, I planned my route to Cottonwood, Arizona, via other parks and scenic drives. Hoping he'll choose to go via freeway but not holding my breath.

Everyone have a great day and safe travels!

Our weather has been so nice since the storm blew through the other day. It's cool at night and warms up to the 80's during the day.

Yesterday we went for Harold's checkup. Everything is looking good and he's on the 4-wheeler this morning spraying fence lines. Three more weeks and he can ride his horse. The doctor told us that at the last show he attended he had people coming up thanking him for helping Harold. We had never met the doctor because we were into cutting and he shows stock horses but we know many of the same horse people.

I need to get my flu shot before my November trip. Leave it to me to get sick on a trip. I just don't want it to be the flu. I put it on my grocery list so maybe I will remember when I go to town. I need to find a new doctor too. I was not impressed with the last doctor I went to but that group has all my records for the last 40 years.

I am going to make Sharon's spaghetti squash for lunch. I'm going to use hot sausage to make it this time. Hope it's not too spicy for me.

Good morning to all!

So good to hear good news on MC, so very glad things are going well/looking up for so many!

Rainy weather is supposed to be ending soon here in IL; sure hope so my turnout for the horses is a mucky mess and so am I when I go to turn them out or bring them in. Backyard is full of mud too so the dogs are happily bringing it inside with them-yuck!

My friend Daun's surgery went well and I talked to her last night. They have had her up in a chair and she is now finding out where they will send her for rehab after they release her. Sounds like it's going to be a rehab place in a nearby town, not far so we will be able to go visit a lot. And I want to take Hershey, her dog to see her. He's been pretty good for me but I'm sure he's missing his Mom and would love to see her. Also, I think she may have a mouse; last night I heard scratching noises and it sure wasn't from me or Hershey! So today I'll go get some traps.

Had a great visit with 2 friends yesterday at lunch. It's kind of hard to pin them down and get them together but yesterday just worked out for us. I wish we could do it more often.

Not much else of note to report here. Probably should go and find out what I'm making for dinner tonight. Also need to print out some forms for a new client I'm meeting today.

Everyone enjoy your day!

Hello, this is for all the ladies who do not do FB. I am doing well, eyesight seems to be good, does blur at times, but told that's to be expected. So if any mistakes in spelling etc. here, its not totally my fault :D

The sun is out beautiful but temp is down here, which Maggie and I, enjoyed this morning early. Nicer over there Donna ?? Hope you get yourself well soon. I am sick of all these dr visits this yr. Need a break, think many others feel the same. Right ????

Won't make this long, no news really as I am not doing much. Maggie and I, go out in the backyard and she walks around. My BIL found two snakes out there Monday, and not seeing well, I think I'm taking chances :o but Maggie needs to go, so ..........

28th I get the other eye done, and we start all over, but now I know what to expect, mainly in this process is all the drops. I don't do well with them, can't judge to well, and hit cheek more then eye. My sis does most of them, just two noon ones I need to try to do,. Which I see its about time for that challenge of the day

Hope you all are having a great day. Whatever or wherever, enjoy your day,
CArol :)

Good Morning busy ladies! We are still wet but it is suppose to dry out soon...
Tina I don't know their thinking... but not sure what to do... I thank you Barbie for the suggestion about Craigs list... that may be the place to go to sell this fix up mh... it is so nice inside with new laminate floors...
Yes Carolb my friends here are for the most part much closer to me than my family... Glad you survived your company...
Kelsie the lady that helps me on Wed was ill yesterday so will catch up some myself...
This is Barbies day not a fun one but one that must be done... I swore that I will never get that test again...
The Peace Meal yesterday was very good stuffed pepper, carrots, lima beans and a brownie... most of the time the meals are bland but this one hit the spot... there is always more than I want to eat... I am thankful to have them as there is a variety every day...
For now I am waiting for the afternoon sun! Hey there CArol good to see you this morning... that is the way it was with me... what a bother the drops were and more on my cheek than eye... my daughter tried to show me how but it didn't help... the drops were expensive and mostly not covered by my RX plan one was $90 not covered... they gave me a chart to keep track of when I did them...
Kathleen or Kathy

Use today wisely it's all you have; yesterday is a memory; tomorrow a dream... KLW[/b][/color]

Morning everyone! Opps, guess it's already afternoon! Just got back from my annual appointment with my doctor and everything is good for another year. Yippee! Waiting to get a call from sil to see if they want to drive down to the casino for a few hours today. If not, homecoming parade and socer game later today. If it's not raining anyway. Don't do games in the rain!!! Or parades either! Carolb, know what you mean about family! Glad to hear the eye surgery went well for you, CArol. The drops are a pain but guess necessary. Will be thinking about Barb today. I got that lecture today. We'll see......
Glad to read about all of you on the road and wish it was me but doesn't look like it's going to happen. Time to winterize and put Lola away until next spring. I hope I can get one of the sons to come help me put the cover on. Or maybe I can handle it myself???? This is new to me so will have to see how the first time goes! Hope everyone has a great day and travel safe if you are on the road.

Still over an hour of morning here in Napa!

My hand is very slowly recovering from surgery, and it is easier to type now. I still cannot lift much of anything, but at least it does not hurt so much to do things like opening cabinets. I am still doing almost everything with my left hand. Get stitches out on Wednesday of next week and then headed east and south to Florida. I predict it will still be very sore driving, but I will manage. They want me to wear a splint, but am only wearing it part time. Hurts to wear it, and I know many doctors do not require it, so am not too worried about causing damage.

To make things worse, my daughter-in-law who is a middle school principal was wearing high heels and slipped in the school office, fell, and broke a bone in her ankle! My son took me to the school, which is very close to campground, on Monday to drive her car to get the kids from school while he took her to the emergency room. I took kids to fast food for dinner. Daughter-in-law went to work on Tuesday and yesterday, but ended up coming home early both days. Today she is at home until they deliver a new kneeing walker since she cannot put weight on the temporary cast and crutches are awkward. (She has her laptop and phone in bed keeping in contact with school!! Hard for a principal to be out sick.) I have been picking kids up from school, and today will be following them in my car as they ride their bikes home. Long story, but no school buses here in Napa and part of long walk home is along a busy road, no sidewalks even part of the way, and since they are 7 and 9 are a bit young to be riding home alone. Will be fixing dinner as well, which I did on Tuesday, also.

Interesting comparison--my Ohio grandkids get picked up from school at the end of their driveway because they have had two kindergartners in a row, and they moved the school bus stop close to them. When kids get a bit older, they will still only need to walk to end of the street for school bus. Here in Napa, kids either walk relatively long distances or get picked up by parents!!! Older kids walk or ride public buses. Good thing weather is good.

Got a lot of work to do so got to get back to it right now. :)

Oh, Anita, I feel for you - another possible great hike, and you didn't get to do it. So sorry. And that is why any type of caravan is hard for me - because I don't want to not do the things I WANT to do. Usually with one person it's better - but I guess by now you know what he's going to be like - at least part of the time. Dang it anyway! I'm wishing you luck that he decides to go a different route :)

Just worked 6 days in a row - had some glorious warm weather - am off tomorrow and today the really high winds came back (supposed to stay windy tomorrow) and the temps are dropping. Dang it anyway. Maybe it's good. I will fill out my absentee ballot and take it to the post office tomorrow - as well as do a load of laundry - but overall would like to just relax anyway - as then I do 7 in a row before I get another day off.

Just hit a wrong button and lost the rest of the "book" I wrote. You should all be glad :)

Late here tonight, but pretty much was out of commission all day

The prep didn't go too well yesterday. Ended up throwing up about half of the Gatorade mixture. I have a small stomach and I think it was too much, too fast for me to handle. Took more time with the remaining mixture and did OK with that. Was up til 2am and then was able to get a few hours of sleep before starting again this morning.

The procedure went OK and the doc only found 2 polyps and thinks they will be fine but will know for sure in a few days. However, didn't do well with the sedative afterward. Was very dizzy and had dry heaves all the way home. Went straight to bed and took a 3 hour nap. Then had some soup. Feeling better tonight now.

Hopefully, I won't have to go back for that for 10 years, and maybe by then, they will have an easier way of doing the prep!

Wasted two gorgeous, sunny, 70 degree days tho. Back to the 50's tomorrow :( Maybe Saturday will be decent, as I have that day off too. Need to get out for some exercise and fresh air before it gets too cold.

Cat sitting this weekend too, for a neighbor/friend of mine. Her apartment is at the very end of the building overlooking the lake, so might spend some time on her porch on Saturday watching any boats that might still be out cruising around. Most boats are getting pulled out now for the season, but a few still in for another week or two. After that horrible Halloween blizzard we had back in '91, most people make sure to have their boats out before then, now. Lots of boats got stuck in the ice after that storm. Got 2 feet of snow that night and then high winds and single digit temps for a week afterward! No one wants to take any chances now.

CArol, glad to hear your eye surgery went well. I am sure you will be glad to get the other one done too!

Anita, can you do those hikes by yourself if L doesn't want to go with? How frustrating!

Judy, hope your wrist heals quickly. Can you wear a soft brace for some support since the splint is bothering you too much?

Hope you all have a good night. I am off to bed early. Have to work in the morning, but luckily, I have a split shift, so can come home at 1 and take a nap before heading back at 5.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
