Cooking in Plastic Bags

Cooking in Plastic Bags

Postby AlmostThere » Fri Oct 03, 2008 2:44 pm

We talked in the past about boiling in plastic bags and the dangers thereof. Today I found Glad has what they call microwave steaming bags, so I bought some to try. I'll let you know when I use them how it goes.

In the box are some recipes and one is a Ham and Cheese Omelet! You mix 2 eggs, 1/2 C shredded cheese and 1/2 C diced baked ham in the bag with a fork, being careful not to puncture the bag, add salt and pepper to taste; seal bag and micro. on hi for abt. 2 mins. Allow bag to stand 30 secs before opening.

Also included is a recipe for beef stroganoff.
It says to visit their website at www.Glad.com/simplycooking for more.

Barbzeee, are you speaking of the veggies in the frozen foods section that come in their own steam bag?

I used the steaming bags again. This time I cubed some squash and lightly coated it with brown sugar. Yummo!!
