A Kitchen Tip (oh, how interesting...)

A Kitchen Tip (oh, how interesting...)

Postby mitch5252 » Thu May 26, 2011 12:53 pm

..

I thought of this tip because I just noticed I ruined (well, stained, and being as anal as I am, stained is just as good as ruined) one of my favorite plastic containers...

You know how plastic containers get stained when you store/freeze a tomato based product (pizza sauce, tomato sauce, etc.)??

Well, just spritz it with a little bit of Pam before you pour in the sauce. Voila - NO stains when you finally remove the sauce.

That is my Helpful Tip of the Day.
(I was always pretty good at Trivial Pursuit because my brain is full of worthless information...)

That is a great idea! (I also throw out stained plastic bowls)

Will give it a try. Not as picky as you about the stains except I have to remember to hide those when company shows up

Because it's one of those "duh" things, we all know Pam keeps things from sticking!

Have you tried using Pam to keep your sweaty little legs from sticking to the van seats?
Really, you ought to try it, go now and do it! :o

That's a great idea...if it works...and if I remember to do it. Thanks!

That's one of those things on those emails of helpful tips - that I read and then think of AFTER I put sauce in the container. Never think of it before. Well, maybe once or twice. Maybe talking about it here... nah, next time, I'll think of it after I remove the stuff and the container is stained. Oh well... lol ... it does help that I don't use the containers much anymore - using quart baggies and tossing them when I remove the product. No stains.
