Beer Bread...Simple and Easy :)

Beer Bread...Simple and Easy :)

Postby Barbzeee » Tue Aug 19, 2008 7:13 am

Now Sista's as I promised... you can't get any easier than this.. and only a few ingredients..

Ok...here she be ! Right off the Wall too....:)

Beer Bread...:)

3 C. self-rising flour
2 TBLS sugar
1 (12 oz) can of beer (room temp)
Mix and top with a stick of butter.
Bake 350 - 1 hour.
mix all ingredients - that is, all three of them. Stir the flour & sugar together and
add the beer. Mix thoroughly and pile it into a loaf pan. Whether you butter the
loaf pan is up to you, add 1 stick of melted butter and pour over bread in pan..

Bake 1 hour at 350...

You can add herbs to the mixture or even poppy seed... this is a great toast bread

the butter allows the bread to fry around the top and sides and bottom so you get
a great taste as well as crunch...

Who said anything about calories..

Any kind of beer .. you have laying around... LOL if it's lays around..
or perhaps that bottle of beer on the wall...

This bread is so easy and you can do anything with it...add cheese and
pepperoni..or any kind of herbs you like.. make it your own twist..but the
nice thing..it's simple and easy...remember I don't like all the work any more..

enjoy..

God Bless

Sounds really good but with my high cholesterol I shouldn't use this much butter.

I made the beer bread the other day. Pretty darn good. I used a bottle of dark bear because that's what I had.

Oh...this sounds good...but I just hate recipes that call for only one can of beer....you have to buy a whole six-pack...what in the world do you do with the other five cans????? :? ;)

It's worse than 5 left over cans for me. I wanted to try this beer and it only came in a box of 12. I drank 2, my son drank 1, I made the bread so I have 8 hanging around. I can make a lot of bread. ;)

Shoot, I was thinking, I could make this, I have all the ingredients already,,,, then I notice that it's self rising flour, all I have is all purpose flour. Any idea what I could add, portion wise to make it up... guess if I drank dpf's other 5 beers I wouldn't care!

Self-Rising Flour Substitute

One cup self-rising flour equals:

1 cup all-purpose flour, plus
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder, plus 1/8 teaspoons salt.

PS: I know I said I was headin' off to bed in my PM...G came in with the mutt! :(
