Spiced Hot Wine

Postby mitch5252 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:06 am

All the talk about homemade Kahlua and Bailey's reminded me of this recipe we used to make years ago - Spiced Hot Wine. Seems like many of you (us) around the country are experiencing perfect weather for this beverage!

Spiced Hot Wine

6 C. red wine
2 t. cinnamon
1/2 C. sugar
3 apples, cut up
3 whole cloves
1 t. lemon juice

Combine. Bring to boil. Simmer 20 minutes. Set overnight. Strain. Reheat to serve. YUMMO!

Hey wait a minute! Doesn't 20 minutes of simmering evaporate the alcohol in the wine? :?
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
