Weird sandwich type

Weird sandwich type

Postby Mrssissy » Sat Aug 15, 2009 9:30 am

Do any of you have some to share here?
Some sandwich types are strange but good to others. I tried this one on Sparkle one time and she loved it. It is so refreshing in the summer for a change. I grew up with it, but I think it's kind of southern.

Pineapple Sandwich

Pineapple slices drained and blotted on paper towel
2 slices munster cheese (the best kind for this to me
lettuce
mayo on the bread
So refressing and different

I think that sounds like a good sandwich too, I'm one of those that likes
ham/pineapple pizza, so yep, that definately is a doer.
My other favorite sandwich is chicken salad with cranberry relish, I know
its not weird, but its not common. I only know of one place in town that
makes them and I think they use turkey instead of chicken. But, they are
so so good!
I think peanut butter and cucumber sandwich is weird but have never had
one, it just might be good, maybe someday I'll try one.

Speaking of peanut butter, has anyone ever tried that fried peanut butter sandwich Elvis liked?

I've never heard that one, did know about his peanut butter and banana sandwich, though. How was the fried one?

Edit: We used to eat peanut butter and cheese toasted open faced in the toaster oven.

Use to eat banana and liverwurst sandwiches. :o  I think it was the salt and sweet combo, but not bad tasting either. ;)
My sister loved radish sandwiches. Not sure if she still eats those or not.
I heard bacon and PB are good together. But I think any sandwich with bacon is a winner! :D

I had a relitive that ate shedded cabage and tomato sandwiches.

Of course in the south we like bannana, peanutbutter, with mayo sandwich.

Also this time of year we like tomatto slices with mayo.

I have had radish sandwiches. Not too bad.

When my college roommate and I would get desperate we would eat dill pickle and mayo sandwiches. I went to college so long ago that we were in "lock down" at night and couldn't go out just anytime we wanted. The donut place was the only place that would deliver to the dorm until 10:00 and I ate so many donuts that I still don't like them very much.

I've had Bread and Butter pickles with peanutbutter on sandwich.

I use thinly sliced cucumber instead of lettace on sandwiches in the summer. Crispy, yummy. Love avacado and tomato sandwiches.

I like butter, bacon and jelly on toast for breakfast. Talk about a heart attack on toast, but I love it. We used to have the pineapple sammys but we put cream cheese on them. Also love turkey, cold dressing and cranberry sauce sammy the day after Thanksgiving.

OMG - someone else who loves bacon, toast and jelly sandwiches???? That has been my absolute favorite sandwich since I was a kid. I have NEVER met anyone else who even heard of it, much less loves it!!! Mom didn't, and I still don't, use the butter. Give it a try without...less risky for the ol' heart (and hips and butt, in my case.) If I fix BLTs for hubby, I have BTJ

Wow...I'm just blown away.
Try it, BTJ Virgins, try it! :D

I'm a BTJ virgin. I'll try it next time I'm in a restaurant (I don't do bacon at home) and
post back here.

For the rest of you? I have no words to describe my reaction to your sammies. :? ;)

EXCEPT, I thought the pineapple one would be great grilled. Mmmmmm.

Sorry Mitch, I've tried it w/o the butter and don't care for it that way, but not to worry, I don't use real butter, I use Smart Balance. Don't really care for the taste of the real stuff even tho I know that margarine is basically plastic! At least the Smart Balance has no trans fats in it.
