Crock Pot Apple Butter :)

I thought I had posted this one before but must have been elsewhere..Right now I have this going in my Crock Pot...and house smells heavenly.. My cubbards were bare..so I need to replentish this.. This is a gooder as they say in Pa Dutch..:)

Crock Apple Butter
Makes 4 cups

12 med. Granny Smith or other cooking apples, peeled and cut into fourths
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup apple juice
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Mix all ingredients in 5-6 qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 8-10 hrs. or until
apples are very tender. Mash apples with potato masher or large fork.
Cook uncovered on LOW 1 to 2 hrs., stirring occasionally, until mixture is very thick.
Cool about 2 hrs. Spoon apple butter into container.
Cover and store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks.

I've done this with a mixture of apples too... I only make this size batch as just my hubby and I have it on toast...sooooooo ....but you could double batch if you need ....but boy my house is smelling wonderful... woooooooo hooooooo !
