Will not bake anything in crockpot again.. Didn’t like the texture of bread. Will just use my old recipe.

LOL, thanks for mentioning "Crock Pot", Shirl. I very nearly forgot my morning's project!!

I bought a chuck roast yesterday at the grocery store, as I have a hankering for some nice home-made tacos and maybe some home-made enchiladas (I also bought a can of enchilada sauce at the grocery store).

Chuck roast cooked in the crock pot makes a very nice pulled beef for both tacos and enchiladas. I top the roast with onion power, garlic powder, a bit of salt, a bit of pepper - and my "secret ingredient": two envelopes of (dry) Lipton Onion Soup.

Yum!

I let it cook in the crock pot for about 8 hours or so - I better get to it if I want tacos for dinner tonight! And I most certainly DO!

Anne, sounds delicious. I use my crocks all the time but won’t use to bake. I sliced the bread and put in the freezer, will be good toasted.

I don't use my crock very often, but I really like it when I have a day-long project coming up - I can put something in the crock in the morning, and dinner will be ready when I am done with my project.

Well, Shirl, I've got to laugh at myself. You are right that it comes out delicious - but immediately after writing my post yesterday, I went on to do other things and (again) totally forgot about the roast. When I remembered again, about 5:00 p.m., I went to put it in the crockpot anyway - and found that I had put it in the freezer.

So! Thawing out this morning, will go into the crock pot about noon-ish.

That is, if I remember!

Shirl, I'm glad it will work as toast.
