My girlfriend told me about this...Dump Cake

Apple version
9x13 pan
dump in two cans of apple pie filling
squirt on a bunch of caramel sauce (like the ice cream topping) if you have it
cover pie filling with a bag of yellow cake mix (dry)
cut up two sticks of butter and place all over the top

Cherry Pineapple version
9x13 pan
mix a can of cherry pie filling and a 30some oz. can of crushed pineapple (with juice)
cover that with a bag of white cake mix (dry)
cut up two sticks of butter and place all over the top

Cook for 45-50 min at 350...enjoy

Great with vanilla ice cream
You can also add crushed pecans or walnuts on top if you'd like

Wow, that sounds good - especially the cherry one. Unfortunately I can’t eat a whole cake. :(

A friend has made the cherry one at a few gtgs I've been to. It's always a hit.

Sandi, you can make a half recipe of this. I don't like to have that much dessert hanging around so I weight the cake mix and just take out half. Use one can of fruit and a 8x8 pan.

Peach version
2 cans peaches in light syrup
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
cinnamon to taste
Preheat oven to 375
Empty peaches into buttered 9x13 pan. Cover with the cake mix and press down firmly. Cut butter into small pieces and dot over cake. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake 45 min

I made this last year for the first time and everyone has loved it so far. I take it camping when I think there might be a potluck (make it the night before and reheat) My girlfriends have requested I make it for our annual Christmas dinner next week. So easy! I serve warm with vanilla ice cream - it is really rich and little goes a long way.
