The BEST Shrimp

The BEST Shrimp

Postby Bethers » Sat Mar 30, 2013 8:57 pm

I shared this recipe on Facebook before I tried it. I know a couple ladies have already made it ... but I finally did today, and it was AWESOME. I always like my scampi the best (when making shrimp) but this now is my favorite. And it's soooooooo easy.

Here's the basic recipe:

Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min.

The picture of the recipe showed the shrimp not yet peeled and deveined, but I peeled and deveined them - like eating them hot.

Changes I made:
I used ½ butter and ½ EVOO. Making one serving used less and used ½ pack of seasoning. Added garlic to the butter/olive oil mixture. Next time I'll add hot pepper flakes with the seasoning.

Freezing? It's snowing here...of course the Easter eggs are easier to find against the white!

Oh yum ... that sounds awesome! And I think that your modifications of EVOO and chili powder (I would use chipotle) would be really good. I've got some shrimps in the freezer that I think could use a hot butter bath in the next day or so ... thanks!! :P

And, of course, cut down the butter combination to work with the amount of shrimp. I have a feeling this recipe made lots more shrimp than I did/do.

Went looking for lunchtime inspiration and found Beth's shrimp recipe. I didn't have italian dressing seasoning so used herbes d'provence, salt and pepper. Should have added garlic because I love it but forgot. I also added fresh broccoli florets. Turned out very good but florets were chrunchy. I would steam them slightly separately first and then add to the rest of the dish next time.
